Monday Meal Plan

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

January 4, 2010 By Cherie Lowe

Here’s what’s for dinner on the Royal Table this week.  We’ll be eating at home all month in January to keep costs low as we buckle down and take on a New Year.  Join the challenge and see if you can go the entire month without eating out.

Monday: Black Bean Turkey Meatballs
               Sweet Potato Fries
               Green Beans
               Apple Sauce

Tuesday: Egg Sandwiches
               Fruit Salad
               Fresh Cut Veggies

Wednesday: Shredded BBQ Chicken
                     Fresh Baked Bread
                     Green Beans
                     Whole Wheat Mac and Cheese

Thursday: Baked Rotini
with Ground Turkey and Tomato Basil Sauce
                 Toast/Olive Oil
                 Spinach Salad

Friday: Whole Wheat Pizza
             with Turkey Pepperoni, Red/Yellow Pepper,
             Red Onion, Mushrooms, and Spinach
             Mozzarella and Feta Cheeses
Whole Wheat Cheese Pizza for the kiddos

Saturday:  Lunch – PBJ/Fresh Veggies/Leftovers
Dinner – Black Beans, Brown Rice, Salsa, and Cheese plus Avocado and Spinach

Sunday:  Lunch/Dinner: Pizza Soup
                                       Fresh Baked Bread
                                       Fruit Smoothies

Don’t forget that planning your meals keeps your mind, grocery list, and house from being cluttered.  Plus having a plan will keep you out of the drive thru and you might even drop a pound or two by knowing exactly what’s going into your food.  What are you eating this week?

I used to just buy stuff and then invent my meal plans later…what a HUGE mistake and waste of food!
I learned to create my weekly menus and now I save a TON at the Grocery Store!

P.S. Do you have a recipe for the BBQ chicken? Thanks!

This is also MY new year’s resolution! My family, however, is lucky to get the main dish from your list! Maybe after doing this for a month or so i can start adding in the sides!? 😉

Lady Mamapersonett – You are welcome to copycat any of our meal plans any week! 🙂 That’s precisely why I share them, to help spark ideas.

Lady Leandra – I am right there with you. I always look in the cabinets first to get a good handle on what we already have before I do any shopping. I am perfecting the chicken but I actually made it for the first time last week and was able to get 5 meals from one bag of frozen chicken by slow cooking it. Perhaps next week I will be able to post it for you.

Lady Catinanapron – Yay for you! You will not regret planning meals, I promise. Start small and stick with it and then add the extras. Baby steps, baby steps to success.
