If you happened to find me today because of reading the article in the Daily Journal, welcome! I hope that you’ll enjoy what you find here. Here are some great frugal fitness resources:
- Buff on a Budget is a regular feature on Queen of Free where each Tuesday I share some of my favorite frugal fitness tips and my personal journey of getting my groove back. Go here to read past posts.
- Craigslist, Freecycle, and Facebook are all great places to look for discount pieces of large equipment. Use your personal networks via e-mail and Facebook (you can become a fan of the Queen of Free there, too) to find out if someone you know is looking to get rid of a treadmill or eliptical. It worked for me!
- I love our Wii and Wii Fit Plus but I know it’s not an option for everyone on a budget.
- Two of my favorite fitness DVDs are Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred and Women’s Health Train For Your Body Type. You can also get a great deal on Resistance Bands on Amazon. Remember, you can also check out fitness DVDs from your local library or your use your Netflix subscription.
- Check out this post I wrote on Couch to 5K plans.
- Women’s Health Magazine and Men’s Health Magazine both have great online free workouts, including downloadable workouts for your computer or iPod.
