Three Things Thursday

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

April 2, 2009 By Cherie Lowe

Welcome to Spring Break Three Things Thursday!  Here are a few things that we’ve done on our Spring Break this year so far.

Three Things to Do on Spring Break:

1) Sleep in.  It’s really the simple things that make me happiest.  I got to sleep well past 7 twice this week.  So I know that doesn’t sound like much but with a baby that hasn’t slept much in the last year this is sleeping in for me!  This AM, I let the King sleep in, too.  🙂

2) Stock up on groceries.  I pretty much got stocked up for the next couple of weeks with a trip to Aldi and Target (saved over $20 in coupons, woohoo).  I also cooked and froze black beans, pasta and peas for the baby, and made a large batch of granola with plans to do a bit more before the week ends.

3) Visit family.  We had a great time catching up with family members at the start of our Spring Break.  We played plenty of Wii at my parents, too.  It’s just like a resort in our book, especially with the way that the eldest princess plays golf on the Wii.

What about you, what are three things you do on Spring Break?

    1. Go stay at my folks and mooch! 🙂 We love visiting with my mom and dad, and I’d be lying if I also didn’t admit it’s nice to have one week off from grocery shopping for ourselves. 🙂 Wonderful, edifying fellowship and yummy food cooked by my awesome Mom!
    2. Jog with my husband! I love to run with Stan and we never get to since we can’t just leave the bambinos alone by themselves, so we always love it when we spend time at my folks house so that we can jog and talk with each other while exercising.
    3. Sleep in until at least 7 or 7:30, eat a late breakfast and talk around our big table with the extended family until suddenly we realize that pretty soon it will be time to start thinking about what we need to fix for lunch! Love those times! Precious!
