Today is a banner day Lords & Ladies. You see one of my oldest friends is officially debt free.
I’ve known Lady Amber since the 4th grade. She played on a rival school’s basketball team. She was {and remains} very tall. I am not {and remain so}. We might have been sworn enemies at one time.
Over time, we became friends, had almost every class together our Junior & Senior years of a very small high school.
As adults, we freakishly {ok I guess I would officially term it “ordained”} ended up living in the same apartment complex, 2 hours away from where we grew up after 4 years at different colleges.
And then? We ended up at the same church.
And then? We ended up in the same life group at church.
And then? We ended up on the same debt slaying journey.
It’s kind of like God was weaving us in and out of each others’ stories. And I’m so glad He did.
Amber has been an enormous source of encouragement for the Royal Family. She’s made us birthday cakes, curtains, and placemats. She’s watched the Princesses when I had appointments. She went with me to my first major speaking engagement and sat through an unbearable keynote speech filled with old lady humor {don’t worry I was only doing a breakout session}. She has been a constant in what was a long and arduous journey. She served as my cheerleader, I happily served as hers.

Sir Ryan & Lady Amber came to the debt free party and gifted us with a dragon pierced by a sword. It hangs on the King of Free’s office wall as a reminder of the Target Visa Dragon’s defeat and our debt slaying journey.

We stick it to the companies that we didn’t know were out to bleed us dry when we first loaned our lives away. We learn from one another. We rejoice together.
