Hey everybody. So glad you stopped by today. Freedom Friday is when I bi-weekly let you in on how we’re doing with our pursuit of paying off debt. It’s also when many of you have e-mailed me with your story (with either “Freedom in Progress” or “Freedom Achieved” in the subject line) so I can share your story to encourage others, too.
It’s hard to believe it’s been two years. Two years ago TODAY (how perfect that it fell on a Freedom Friday?), our family decided to start paying off as much debt as we could as quickly as we could. The Youngest Princess was less than a month old (she’s now two!). The Eldest Princess was in Kindergarten (she’s finishing up 2nd grade now). And we were in a HEAP of debt. So what have we paid off in the past two years, you may ask?
- My Student Loan
- Furniture that we unwisely bought on a Payment Plan
- A Kohls Card
- Our Car
- Our Target Visa Card
- A C-Section Delivery and Medical Debt for the Youngest Princess
- Ear Tube Surgery and a 150 Dr. Visits for the Youngest Princess
- A New Water Heater bought with our emergency fund
- A Root Canal and LOTS of Dental Work for me
- And a ton toward the balance of the King’s Student Loan (our last debt!).
