You may have noticed the cute little cow hanging out on sidebar of my site. She looks a little something like this:
A cow? Wearing chucks? Adorbs. But I keep wondering if maybe she needs some more support for her udders.
I am thrilled to be partnering with the Winners Drink Milk Refuel Runner program thanks to Indiana Dairy. This summer and into the fall, I’ll be blogging about my running adventures. Luckily, my Old Lady Arches are on the path to recovery and I’ve been throwing down some miles in my spiffy new orthotics {EEP the weather is beautiful for running right now in the Queendom}. You can read an introduction to my journey on the Winners Drink Milk Blog right now.
I couldn’t think of a better way to launch into summer than running a 5K on a Saturday AM. So this Saturday June 8th, I’ll be hitting the road trail canal and participating in the CASA SuperHero Run in beautiful White River State Park. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been consistently running 3.7 miles {my “regular” route} so I know I can finish this race. How fast I’ll be? Well that’s up for debate. But I’ll be sure to give you an update after I finish. I would love NOTHING more than to see you out on the course on Saturday AM. So if you live near the geographical Queendom, won’t you please consider registering? There are so many reasons why you should!
- It supports an awesome cause.
- You get to kick off your weekend by moving.
- You get to dress up like your SuperHero of choice {which means I *probably* need to find something WonderWoman-esqe for my run!}.
- It’s a great even for families.
- Did I mention SuperHero costumes?!
- The deadline for pre-registration is 6/6/13 so CHOP CHOP.
My Big Hairy Audacious Royal Goal {BHARG, if you will} of the summer is to run the Indianapolis Women’s Half {just used the code PRODUCEMOM & got $5 off my entry} at the end of August. It’s the first half marathon I’ve run since spring of 2011 before a string of setbacks in 2012 {oh that and laziness}. I’ve always wanted to take on this event and now I’m ready to roll with a training schedule in hand. My dream would be to set a Personal Record on my finish {my best time ever was 2:05 and I would LOVE to come in under 2 hours}.
My new post-run obsession is Dark Chocolate Milk {nom nom nom}. It’s the perfect mix of carbs & protein to refuel! I’m including my recipe which is oh-so-simple. I use an Aerolatte Milk Frother {best Christmas gift ever} to make mine nice and foamy. And I *may* have been known to add the leftover coffee to it, too.
