Um, if the fact that I didn’t post this on Monday doesn’t make it obvious, this is a nutso week in the Queendom. I suppose every week of summer could be considered nutso, quite honestly. I’ve basically found a new 2nd home in the car shuttling kids to and from camps, practices, and lessons. I think it’s because the Princess Youngest has become involved in her own “sport” and now there are 2 Princesses to manage {we typically don’t take on lessons/sports until the age of 5}. So far, it’s all going fairly well. I’m also doing more running than usual in a physical sense so it requires a bit of my time during the day. Add to that the fact that my grill has died {sad trombone wah waaaaaaaah} so my normal summer cooking routine {and clean up routine, too!} are shot. But no matter what appointments I add and drop from my schedule, what I can’t sacrifice are the frugal practices that helped us pay off over $127K in debt. Chief among those practices are both meal planning and what feels like a constant inventory of the foods we have to make sure we’re not in an unending line at the grocery store most of the week. If I don’t have a plan, I know I’ll fail when it comes to best using our resources, money, and time without a meal plan. I don’t always follow our meal plan to a T but there’s a relief in knowing that we have all of the items to make meals all week long that we need. That way, we use the groceries we have and stay out of the drive thru {obviously saving money!}
Don’t forget I have a newly designed Meal Planner to help you in your meal planning and grocery list endeavors. And you can always find it {along with other great resources} on the FREE Printables Tab on Queen of Free.

Planning meals was definitely one of the biggest keys for success in our paying off over $127K in debt. Often I swap days or side items to make our menu plan work but the main purpose is to make sure I have everything on hand I need for meals throughout the entire week. The less you go to the store, the more money you save!
