Catch me tomorrow morning on WTHR Weekend Sunrise at 7:45 AM! Here’s a sneak peek of some of the money saving tips I’ll share.
Dear ‘Ole Dad. He truly deserves the best today and every day. But the last thing your dad would ever want you to do is to waste money. So don’t overspend to show your love, instead make your papa proud. He’ll be happy to know you scored a deal while giving pops props.
Restaurant Freebies & Deals:

Last Minute Gift Ideas:
- Go Practical! What does your dad need and love. From golf balls to oil pans, there are plenty of gifts for under $10. Don’t over think it, just think about what your dad does on a regular basis and hit that aisle.
- Get a Magazine Subscription. Amazon is running plenty of awesome deals on subscriptions, up to 80% Off. You can snag one on the cheap and pick up the first issue in store or download the tablet version for him to peruse today. Plus, choose from any of these Magazine Subscriptionss and get a $5 credit in your Amazon account toward another order!
- Go with a gift card! From Amazon to dad’s favorite restaurant, there’s a simple and quick way to say I love you. Ruby Tuesday, Applebees, and Qdoba all have deals where you can snag a gift card for dad and get something for yourself at the same time {or better yet, give that to him, too}.
- Skip the card or make your own. Greeting cards are awesome, but some dads aren’t interested in them. My dad loves a good funny card but the King of Free would prefer a Post It Note with Happy Father’s Day & the $3 you would have spent on the card. 🙂 Crack out the crayons or write a letter. Your dad still loves hanging your art up in his office.
- Spend time. What your dad {and you} will value most is spending time together. From a ride in his truck to a stroll down the street to a nap next to him on the couch. Showing you care doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. It’s all about being intentional.
How will you spoil the fathers in your life without spoiling your bottom line?
