Team Colors! |
Greetings Money Saving Lords and Ladies . . . let’s just say it’s been awhile, shall we? Last week hit me like a blast. For starters, our sink has been out of commission for over a week and a half. It resulted in us eating a lot more quick fix foods and using a lot of paper goods. My kitchen was even more of a mess than usual and it = an unbalanced me.
And then we flew right into preparations for the Race for the Cure. From there was the actual Race for the Cure, which was in a word – awesome. We had so much fun with team Rally for Sally. But first let me display some pictorial evidence . . .
Our team ready to roll eeeeaaaarrrllly in the AM! |
Sally is in her Pink Survivor Shirt! Brenda raised $125 for our team. WOO! |
For starters, we had more cash come in and tentatively our team total is $585. WOOT WOOT. Brenda Bryant brought in $125 and won the Hanes Gift Card from our team. Hanes donated some great items and we were able to put together 2 baskets for the Silent Auction which turned out super cute (I didn’t get pictures taken, rats!).
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Wabash Valley hosted their largest event ever and raised close to $35,000. They had to raise their fundraising bar TWICE because it was met. The city of Terre Haute also did a phenomenal job. Businesses had all things pink and the volunteers rocked the route with encouragement and fun. The Indiana State University athletics department also is to be commended. The Student athletes who participated (who outpaced 3 ISU Men’s Basketball players resulting in free ticket vouchers? THIS GIRL!) and also lined the track at ISU were AMAZING. They rolled out of bed for a great cause and even had smiles on their faces.
I can’t thank Hanes enough for inspiring our team and providing great shirts for us to run in on Saturday. We’re all counting the days until next year.
