Hi there. This is my Mother-in-Law, the King’s Mum, known affectionately as Grandma Sally to the Princesses. I apologize for the teeny tiny picture. I meant to get a better one this weekend but for now, this will have to do. 🙂
There are waaaaay more than three reasons why I love her. In fact, I couldn’t even begin to list them all. One of the reasons I love her is her joy for life. She just exudes positivity and sweetness. And honestly, she has every reason not to be such a person.
You see 20 years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. And long before I knew her, she fought a good fight and won. So this fall, the Royal Family is pitching a Royal Party to CELEBRATE the joy that is Grandma Sally. AND we need your help! Here’s how you can be a part of the change we all want to see in the world.
1. Join Our Rally for Sally Race for the Cure Team. We are running/walking/trotting/jogging/strollering/sauntering in the Terre Haute area but you can participate anywhere! So far we only have 10 people on our team so we need you to sign up NOW if you live in the Central IN area and can get to Terre Haute on October 2nd. It’s ok if you don’t know me personally. We can meet for the first time there. You can choose between the Competitive 5K, the 5K Fun Run/Walk, or the Celebration Walk (approximately 1 mile). If you can’t make it to Terre Haute on that date, consider making a donation for the amount you would have paid to run/walk and log your time in the neighborhood instead.
2. Make a Donation to our Team. So this seems pretty lame but we are exactly $950 away from the $1000 goal I set for us to raise. We have got a long way to go. But I do know that if every one of my readers gave only $1, we would raise even more than that.

3. Keep Your Eyes Peeled for all Things Hanes. So Lady Elizabeth and the fine folks at Hanes are willing to help our cause! In the coming days, I’ll be holding a giveway for Hanes for those of you who are willing to help me raise awareness and money. PLUS if you’re on my team and you raise the most money, Hanes is going to totally fill your underwear drawer up! Ok, not literally but they’re going to give whoever is on the Rally for Sally team that raises the most dough a very nice gift card! HOLLA.
I very rarely ask you to support a cause. It’s just not my style. But I do know that no matter how much debt you have, $1 or $2 to help those diagnosed with a disease that can strip their joy of life is worth much more than you can every imagine.
