Hi there Money Saving Lords and Ladies. It’s that time of year again. Here on Queen of Free, I will begin posting a larger than normal volume of posts that revolve around great deals . . . perfect for stockings, gifts, and even you. This is a wee bit out of the norm for me as I usually encourage you to save money and not spend it.
Every time I post a deal, I feel a little guilty . . . like I’m leading you astray.
You see my hope is that you come here on a regular basis hoping to gain a little inspiration & encouragement.
That you would learn to LOVE living within your means, delighting in contentment.
That you would learn from our story and avoid our financial mistakes.
That you would be challenged to pay off debt, save money anyway possible, and make wise choices.
That you would trim the fat in your budget and run your household well.
That you would realize it’s holy to waste nothing.
That you would gain joy from free stuff (because it’s a shared passion we hold).
That you would hear me saying, “me too” when you feel like you’ve been stupid with money.
That you would be amused by my upside down, poured out on the ground life.
The last thing that I would ever want is to lead you into a state of discontent or even worse debt.
So you’re going to need to make me a promise (because I have no way of stopping you, tracking it, or chasing you down to chew you out), please spend responsibly this Christmas. Do NOT use credit to purchase the items you see linked on my site. Set a budget and remain within it.
Some of posts will contain affiliate links. What that means is I’ll gain a few pennies or maybe even a couple of dollars when you purchase said product (or possibly something else from the site). I always let you know when I post a deal that is affiliate based. I’m not trying to rob you and I have a high threshold for deals that I post (if it ain’t 50%+ off, it ain’t a deal, Lords and Ladies).
Learning to spend well during the holiday season was a lesson I learned the HARD way. Please don’t repeat my crazy in your story.
Live well. Be content. Remember what the holidays are truly about. Please make me a little promise this Christmas.
DON’T SPEND MONEY YOU DON’T HAVE.
I want the very best for you this December and every other month of the year. That is all, my dear Lords and Ladies.

This post contains an affiliate link. That means when you get a great deal or maybe even something for free, you also help our family pay off our mortgage early. And for that, we royally thank you!

I just want to say thank you for the inspiration to live within our means this Christmas. It’s a challenge, but also exciting! Thanks to your Black Friday post this week I was able to save a lot on our big gift for my youngest. So thank you for posting about deals and it did not lead me astray 🙂 sticking to my budget and my list.

I am committed to paying with cash/debit and leaving the credit cards alone this year. They are, in fact, sealed away in a file…far, far away from my wallet. I also have moved a couple monthly bills off of credit cards to our debit/checking account, so our credit cards will have ZERO purchases on them. This will force me to run a tighter ship, be more resourceful and creative in planning meals, and more mindful of inventory we already have in the pantry.
