IFOF Earth Day

While we were paying off over $127K in debt, our family LIVED for free events. When there were festivals that were free of charge, we were there. Special speakers or activities at our local library? It was a no brainer. And even though we’ve been debt free for a year, we’re still always up for a good time without spending a dime. I think it will just be who we are forevermore. Seriously who wants to drop a wad of cash on entertainment or a family adventure? Not this girl.

On Saturday April 27th whether you’re paying off debt or debt free, your family can enjoy an amazing FREE Outdoor Festival {and you just might learn a thing or two, too. Earth Day Indiana Festival will be held at White River State Park from 11 am – 4 pm. Entertainers, live music, crafts and games for the kids, plus over 130 exhibits ranging from wildlife protection to clean water to alternative fuel vehicles. There really is something for every interest represented in your family.

One of the proud sponsors – Indiana’s Family of Farmers – will have two booths at the day’s festivities. Head to the exhibitor’s tent to check out the “Wheel of Ag.” Your family will learn about the ways Indiana farm families work hard to steward {or manage, maximize, care for and bless} the farm lands of the Hoosier State. And don’t miss their fun activity in the Children’s Tent! Indiana’s Family of Farmers will help kids plant popcorn seeds in biodegradable CowPots {These are SO cool! And if you’re wondering, yep they’re going to help you pot and *ahem* fertilize. And since I know you’re wondering if the ride home will be um fragrant, the answer is no, the don’t stink at all!}. What a perfect way to celebrate “Year of Popcorn” – the theme for the 2013 Indiana State Fair. I can think of few people who love the earth more than the farming community. And I’m SO glad that they’ve

You *may* need to pay for parking and you might want to budget a few extra dollars for dining out {there will be some puh-retty of yummy places to choose from although you could pack a picnic which would be equally as fun and delish}. But I guarantee that you’ll have a great time and Spend Time, Not $ on your family.
