I don’t know about you, but we couldn’t exist without cereal around these parts. It’s a staple for breakfast, sometimes lunch, every once in awhile dinner, and many nights dessert. If you have kids, you also know the value of a cereal snack anytime of the day. And if you know me well, you know that it has to be low in sugar and high in fiber to pass the Royal Table Standards. So I was very excited and a little skeptical to check out new Honey Kix cereal when MyBlogSpark contacted me with the opportunity.
They sent me this great kit with a cereal container, a cereal bowl, a honey dispenser, and a pretty nifty cereal on the go kit that includes a freezable portion to keep your milk nice and cold, a collapsable spoon, and a dry section where your cereal goes (it is totally rad). Best of all, they sent me a coupon for a box of FREE Honey Kix Cereal. We quickly went out and snapped them up to give them a try. Folks, these things were delish. I’m not a big fan of regular Kix even though they meet the low sugar, higher fiber standards. And the Eldest Princess doesn’t like them at all. But these little morsels were a hit from the youngest to the eldest (*ahem* the King, cough cough) member of our household. The Youngest Princess LOVED them and ate the majority of them but we all got our fair share, too.
They come in at 3 g of Fiber (the same as Cheerios!) and only 6 g of Sugar (Cheerios has 1 g but most Cereals have 10 or more!). And they are super-dee-duper-delicious.

As I stated above, the MyBlogSpark provided me with the very same Honey Kix Set. No monies were received for this review nor was it edited by General Mills or a PR company. I always give you my honest opinion regarding products so you can make an informed purchase decision.

The most important part of any grocery trip for my family is buying breakfast items. Having the items on the list guarantees I won’t run out when I need it. Since I always have everyone’s favorite item (Eggo Chocolate Chip pancakes, Froot Loops, eggs & hashbrowns) I don’t hear any tantrums in the mornings while we are getting ready for school. The weekends are when I work on getting my kids to try new foods.

My mornings get off to a great start with the aid of a good chuckle with my daughter… and LOTS of hot, fresh coffee! 🙂
I also subscibe! Thanks!
Breakfast is a very important meal here in our house. We always have lots of cereal, also for all three meals. Thanks for all the awesome info. I’ve been coming to your blog since October. I have told lots of people about it.
I’m an email subscriber. Thanks for bringing us all the great info and freebies!
I am a subscriber and I enjoy your posts.

My mornings must start with breakfast in order to be good. If I don’t have breakfast I’m cranky all day. Also, as soon as I get to work, I have to have a Diet Coke! Hope to win the giveaway!
I’m also an e-mail subscriber and look forward to reading your posts every day!
Mornings get off to the best start when I feel I accomplish something before 7am- whether that’s managing to get up, ready, lunches made and to work before 7, or getting to the gym early, or get laundry started, or dinner in the crockpot. I’m a morning person, so I’m capable of getting stuff done early, and the day goes better when I actually do!

I always offer a couple of breakfast choices. I don’t turn on the TV at breakfast. That way I can talk to my kids and help them mentally prepare for the day while they are eating. Gettin everyone up in plenty of time so they don’t have to rush through breakfast is important for us, too.
I get off to a great start by making my bed as soon as I get up!

In order for our mornings to run smoothly we start the night before with an early bedtime, laying out clothes, and making sure all necessary items are in our backpacks at the door ready to go.
I am a subscriber as well.
For me, having an infant who struggles from time to time to sleep at night, the first, most important thing for me is to put one foot in front of the other and get out of bed. As silly as it seems, it is a struggle most days. The second most important thing is to snuggle with my son, who is five, and needs his Mommy, too. 🙂

And…here is my final comment:
I honestly look forward to your blog each and every day. It seems that there’s always something that I am interested in whether it is homeschooling material, free drinks or sandwiches, discounts, or just information about your life and your struggles. I can honestly relate with nearly every post as you are struggling on this journey of life with your Husband and two children. I am thankful for you.
