Since I’ve been MIA this week, I thought I’d start today off with some penance through a great Give Away. Plus it features a product, company, and organization I love. Sweet. Let me get the particulars out of the way first though.

Last week right before I went on Indy Style, Tracy Forner interviewed Melina Kanakaredes of CSI fame about her relationship with Hanes and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. You can see the interview here. It was rather hilarious. The whole time I was watching her, I was jonesing for Melina’s awesome t-shirt. You see this fall, we’re honoring the King of Free’s momma by running the Race for the Cure and celebrating her 20 years of surviving breast cancer. It’s a pretty big deal in our family. And even though it’s in October, we are amped in May. You’re probably going to hear more in the coming days as our excitement builds.
Ironically when I got home, I had an e-mail from Lady Liz and the good people from Hanes talking about that very interview and that very shirt. And guess what she wanted to send me that very shirt and give away one to one of my lucky readers!
Hanes has long supported Race for the Cure and is the official t-shirt provider for over 1.5 million participants! WHEW, that’s alotta t-shirts. You can also find special Hanes Pink products online, in Walmart now, and other select stores beginning this fall. Right now you can even design your own t-shirts at Hanes Pink, submit them to their current contest, get your friends to vote, and win that t-shirt! I played around with it for a few minutes and it was super fun and easy to use. Let me know if you design one and I’ll vote for you!

Geeky Royal Confession Alert: I literally get giddy when my Hanes ts and socks come through the wash. And I wear them before I wear anything else or save them for special days.
One last frugal note before we get to the fun stuff. I am always cautioning you to not overbuy, overspend, or bust your budget – it’s the best way to become truly free. What I do love about Hanes Pink products that is if you are going to spend money on things you need (like socks, t-shirts, and undies), why not spend on a product that makes a difference in the world? Every penny you have can make a difference, even those you spend on practical products.
