Happy Veterans Day to all of those men and women who have served our country with courage and pride. While their sacrifice and service could never truly be repaid, many businesses are offering freebies in celebration of their efforts. This is actually the 100th anniversary of Veteran’s Day. What a great reason to celebrate!
The majority of these freebies are offered for veterans and active service military. As a general rule, it’s wise to call ahead and make sure your location is participating before arriving and finding they’ve opted out. I’ve noted dates, sizes, and stipulations when available.
Restaurant Freebies
For most of the freebies, you’ll need your military ID and/or proof of service. Unless otherwise stipulated, freebie only available on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Click on the links for specific times and menus.
Applebees: Veterans and active military members get a free meal (gratuity and beverage not included) from a special menu of seven different entrees. Offer valid Sunday, November 11th.
BJ’s Brewhouse: On Sunday November 11th, all veterans and active military can choose an entree of $12.95 or under for free and a FREE Dr. Pepper. Plus, during the entire month of November, current and former military can get a FREE Pizookie® through the Buy a Hero a Pizookie program while supplies last. Go here to claim yours.
Bar Louie: On Sunday, November 11th all veterans and active military can choose an flatbread or burger.
Bob Evans: On Sunday, November 11th all veterans and active military can choose one of six entrees for free (includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner options).
Buffalo Wild Wings: FREE small boneless or traditional wings and fries for all veterans or active-duty service members.
California Pizza Kitchen: On Sunday, November 11th all veterans and active military can order from a special free entree menu.
City BBQ: FREE Sandwich, two sides, and regular beverage on Sunday, November 11th.
Cracker Barrel: FREE Crafted Espresso Beverage or a slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca Cola Cake on Sunday, November 11th.
Denny’s: FREE Build Your Own Grand Slam on Monday, November 12th from 5 AM to Noon for all veterans and active military.
Dunkin’: FREE donut, no purchase necessary on Sunday, November 11th for all veterans and active military.
Famous Dave’s: FREE 2 Meat Salute for all veterans and active military on Sunday, November 11th and Monday, November 12th.
Freddy’s Steakburgers: Select locations will be giving out a card on Sunday, November 11th good for a free combo now through November 30.
Golden Corral: Free Military Appreciation Night on Monday, November 12th from 5 to 9 PM for all veterans and active military. Details here.
Little Caesar’s: FREE Hot ‘n Ready Lunch Combo between 11 AM and 2 PM on Sunday, November 11th.
Logan’s Roadhouse: FREE Meal from a special menu, 3 – 6 PM for all veterans and active military from a special menu.
McCormick & Schmick’s: Sunday November 11th – FREE Dinner from a special menu.
O’Charley’s: FREE “Veterans Thank You Meal” for all veterans and active military on Sunday, November 11th and Monday, November 12th.
On the Border: FREE Create-Your-Own Combo 2 Meal on Sunday, November 11th for active and former military members.
Red Robin: Free Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Fries, no purchase necessary on Sunday November 11th with valid ID.
Starbucks: FREE tall hot brewed coffee on Sunday, November 11th at any participating Starbucks® store for veterans, active duty service members and military spouses.
Texas Roadhouse: FREE entree and beverage from a special menu for lunch (choose from 10 entrees) for all veterans and active military with valid ID Sunday, November 11th.
Waffle House: Print a coupon good for a FREE waffle now through November 30th.
White Castle: Active military and veterans receive a FREE Breakfast Combo or Castle Combo meal #1-6 on Sunday, November 11th and Monday, November 12th.
Retail Discounts & Freebies
Grace for Vets: FREE car washes available for veterans all across the nation. Go here to find your nearest location.
Crew Carwash: FREE car wash on Sunday, November 11 from 7 AM to 9 PM for all past and current service members, no military ID required.
Great Clips: Card good for a FREE haircut that veterans, active, inactive, and National Guard members can use between November 12 – December 31, 2018. If they need a cut, they can also receive a free one on November 11. Details Great Clips. When non-military customers purchase a service on November 11th, they also receive a card to give to a veteran they know good for a free haircut.
Lowe’s & Home Depot: 10% off your total purchase with military ID.
Rack Room: Rack Room offers a 10% discount every Tuesday but also on Veterans Day to those with proper ID.
Sports Clips: Free haircuts for active duty and veterans with proper ID at participating locations.
Target: Target is offering a 10% off discount in store and online good through November 12th. You have to fill out a form online to receive the coupon via e-mail. There are exclusions including gift cards, alcohol, select baby products, and specific name brands. But this is a new-to-me great offering!
Free Admission
National Parks: Our National Parks (over 400) will be free to everyone on Sunday November 11th. Did you know that National Parks have long played a vital role in war efforts? Read an amazing article about the connection here.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources: All veterans and active-duty military personnel, and everyone in their vehicle, will be admitted free to DNR state parks, reservoir properties, state forest recreation areas and state off-road vehicle riding areas on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
