Oh how we love Veterans! We’re grateful for their service and sacrifice. So many businesses and companies choose to honor these brave men and women every year. Events
Parades: In Indianapolis, on Saturday November 11th at noon, don’t miss the Veterans Day Parade. Over 80 units will march through downtown Indy displaying military pride and honoring those who made great sacrifices with their lives. Go here for the parade route and more details. Before the parade begins, don’t miss the special memorial service.
Local Schools: Be sure to ask your children and grandchildren if their schools will have special programs this week. Many elementary and middle schools LOVE to have veterans attend their special programs.
Museums: On Sunday, November 12th, The Indiana State Museum proudly presents the Sunday Serenade. From 3 to 4 PM, the Indianapolis Municipal Band conducted by Colonel Thomas Palmatier of the United States Army Band. The event is FREE and open to the public. Check other local museums for special offerings, too!
National Parks: Our national parks will be free on Saturday November 11th and Sunday November 12th. Find more details here.
Restaurant Freebies
For most of the freebies, you’ll need your military ID and/or proof of service. Unless otherwise stipulated, freebie only available on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Click on the links for specific times and menus.
Applebees: Veterans and active military members get a free meal (gratuity and beverage not included) from a special menu of seven different entrees. Offer valid Saturday, November 11th.
BJ’s Brewhouse: On Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th, all veterans and active military can choose an entree of $12.95 or under for free.
Bar Louie: On Saturday, November 11th all veterans and active military can choose an appetizer or entree for free.
Bob Evans: On Saturday, November 11th all veterans and active military can choose one of six entrees for free (includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner options).
California Pizza Kitchen: On Saturday, November 11th all veterans and active military can order from a special free entree menu.
Denny’s: FREE Build Your Own Grand Slam on Friday, November 10th from 5 AM to Noon for all veterans and active military.
Golden Corral: Free Military Appreciation Night on Monday, November 13th from 5 to 9 PM for all veterans and active military. Details here.
IHOP: All Veterans and active military receive Free Red, White, & Blue Pancakes Friday, November 10th (dine in only, not valid with other coupons or discounts).
McCormick & Schmick’s: Sunday November 5th – FREE Dinner from a special menu.
Red Robin: Free Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Fries, no purchase necessary on Saturday November 11th with valid ID.
Texas Roadhouse: FREE entree and beverage from a special menu for lunch (choose from 10 entrees) for all veterans and active military with valid ID Saturday, November 11th.
White Castle: Active military and veterans receive a FREE Breakfast Combo or Castle Combo meal #1-6 on Saturday, November 11th.
Retail Discounts & Freebies
Free Car Washes: Grace for Vets has FREE car washes available for veterans all across the nation. Go here to find your nearest location (several in the Indianapolis area are participating).
Great Clips: Card good for a FREE haircut that veterans, active, inactive, and National Guard members can use between November 12 – December 31, 2017. If they need a cut, they can also receive a free one on November 11. Details locations. When non-military customers purchase a service on November 11th, they also receive a card to give to a veteran they know good for a free haircut.
Lowe’s & Home Depot: 10% off your total purchase with military ID.
Rack Room: Rack Room offers a 10% discount every Tuesday but also on Veterans Day to those with proper ID.
Sports Clips: Free haircuts for active duty and veterans with proper ID at participating locations.
