Here in the geographical Queendom, we had a new grocery store open its doors in the last week and a half. Some people go to premieres of movies. Others get invited to VIP events at a hot new club. When a new grocery store comes to town? I get the skinny on what will be on the shelves. I’ve made three quick stops at Fresh Thyme Market in the last couple of weeks. It’s been wall-to-wall people each time I’ve visited by I have been able to make some quick observations and of course come up with some ways to save when you visit.
Don’t Miss the Produce Deals
The fresh produce is incredibly well priced. Like – lower than I’ve seen priced produce. The first week featured $0.77 quarts of strawberries, $0.77 avocados, and $0.49 bunches of cilantro. The second week, there were $0.97 pints of blueberries, $0.88 pineapples, and $0.97 navel oranges. There are well priced deals for both organic and non-organic fruits and vegetables. Keep in mind that these are both grand opening and in season prices, so I’ll be interested to see if they continue to be so low year round. But thus far, I’m impressed. You can check out the Fresh Thyme Market Weekly Ads for all of the best prices.
Double Ad Thursdays
Most stores run deals from Thursday – Wednesday. There is nothing worse than arriving a day late to discover that a sale has ended. At Fresh Thyme Market, the ads overlap on Thursday. So that means this past Thursday you could have picked up those $0.77 strawberries from last week and the $0.88 to make a smashing fruit salad for $1.65. I’m sure the store will be at its busiest on this discount day, but it’s the day I plan to visit.

Fresh Thyme Accepts Coupons
While I can’t locate a coupon policy anywhere on their site, I do have verification from the local Facebook page Fresh Thyme Farmers Market accepts coupons. I loved the fact that there were so many hard-to-find allergen free products at reasonable prices, the bulk bins of pantry staples, and some of my favorite brands of teas that are difficult to locate in other grocery stores. Some of the prices were much higher on name brand items than baselines of what I’ve observed in Target or Meijer so you may want to save those for another trip. I also love the made-to-order pizzas (yay for a gluten free option) that clock in at $4.99 for an 8 inch and allow you to choose a crust, sauce, meat, cheese, and plenty of veggies of course. I wasn’t surprised by the large gorgeous salad bar and there’s a great fresh deli counter willing to make sandwiches, too. You can purchase local honey by the pound, speciality oils, and choose from a large variety of whole bean coffees in bulk (available to grind in store). The meat counters have been way too busy for me to evaluate but there are enticing weekly meat specials in the weekly ad. Fresh Thyme probably won’t be the only store I shop; however, I’m very thankful to have another weapon in my arsenal to save money and feed our family nutritious meals. I’d love to bless one lucky Money Saving Lord or Lady with a $25 Gift Card to check out Fresh Thyme. Enter the Rafflecopter below!

I really liked how family friendly they made the opening weekend. My son loved his balloon animal. It was nice to see the local honey so conveniently located at a store where I can do other shopping. I’m looking forward to going back on Thursdays.

Thanks for the overview! I had assumed Fresh Thyme was going to be overpriced like Whole Foods. Glad to hear it’s more on the Trader Joe’s side on the price scale! Can’t wait for the one near me to open.

My celiac family has been begging TJ for a southside store for years! Sad they’re missing out, but SO excited that my GF family can more easily get food that doesn’t make them sick. The awesome prices on fresh produce bring us to the store weekly as well!
