I had a completely different post in mind to write today.

It was filled with with positivity {is that a word?}.  It was sprinkled with inspiration.  It had witty cultural references and a metaphor that has to do with running a race {in fact it was the first in a 3 part series}.

“You can do it” was its underlying message.

It was something more like this.

And then, after the orthodontist appointment and in the middle of the preschool drop off line, the car overheated {for those of you following along at home yes we did just pick up our truck at the shop less than a week ago}.

To say that I’ve had a string of bad days is an understatement.  An overheated car, a lost ATM card, a wad of gum on my running shoes, a traffic warning, locking the Youngest Princess in the car at the Target . . . yep that’s all been since Friday.

Let’s just say that even at the end of this debt slaying journey, it’s not easy.  It never has been.  Remember when I said paying off debt wasn’t complex, it just wasn’t easy?  Um yeah, I stand by that one.

Clothes falling apart, a mailbox all bent and literally held together by bungee cords, no haircut in close to 3 years, scrimping on the grocery budget to eat as simply and still healthfully as possible, holes, dents, scrapes, and raggedy stuff . . .

Yep, today’s one of those days.  Remind me that it’s going to be worth it.
