Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

February 8, 2010 By Cherie Lowe

Good morning Money Saving Lords and Ladies!  I can hardly believe it’s Monday.  I’m trying to get back on track in several areas of life (including blogging) after a long, wonderful but tiring extended weekend at Blissdom thanks to Inexpensively.  I’ll be blogging throughout the week on the lessons learned, people I met, and experiences that I was blessed with while at this fantastic blogging conference.  However, for now, let me do a little housekeeping.

1) You might notice that I’m having a problem with my commenting system.  You are able to comment and they appear on the site; however on the front page it will say 0 comments.  I’m trying to make the fix and patch the code but until I figure it out, I encourage you to click and see if there are comments hiding on posts.  It’ll be like a virtual Easter Egg hunt.  While you’re there, leave me one and let me you’re there!

2) I have received several e-mails lately asking for recipes on my Monday Meal Plan.  I provide them when I can; however, I’ve been buried in e-mails lately.  The additional challenge is that often I don’t have a set recipe.  I’m such a “little of this,” “little of that,” “stir, stir, stir,” and “voila!” sort of chef.  So I’ll do my best to get back to you with a vague recipe or a solid one if I have a link or set measurements.  Please be patient with me and know I’m not avoiding you at all!

Hope your Monday is moving right along.  Mine began with making a $400+ payment on our Target Visa card.  WOOT WOOT.  Less than $400 left to pay off so that Target AND Visa no longer own a piece of our souls.  And then we can begin the process of kicking Sallie Mae out of our home.  That girl takes up way too much space!
