Gather ’round Lords and Ladies, and let me tell you a tale . . . it’s a romantic comedy (most days) of a boy and a girl who were (and remain) quite smitten for each other. In their courting days, the young man decided to pour his affections over the young woman with a weekend full of birthday gifts to celebrate who she was and what she meant to him. It was one of the first glimmering examples that proved he was indeed worthy of her love – not just because he came bearing gifts (although it didn’t hurt) but because the gifts, though not extravagant in the monetary sense, were filled with great thought and care. Each gift was a favorite of hers and she felt lavished upon.
In their first year of marriage (his strategies were well played and worked), the young man decided that a weekend simply wasn’t enough for his young bride. Instead, he stepped up his game and provided Seven Full Days of Celebration. It was then (a mere 10 years ago), that the Seven Days of Cherie was born. Yep, that’s right. The King of Free, the great love of my life yearly blesses me with seven days of feeling special. Now, it’s obvious that we don’t spend much in our household on things like birthdays. So we’ve begun to get more and more creative in the way that we give. And do you know what’s happened? The gifts have actually gotten much better and filled with more thought. And many times the gifts aren’t things – they’re an hour to myself, an act of service like cleaning the house, or a project like sorting and organizing a closet. I don’t have to tell you that is is absolutely awesome.
And today is the first day of Cherie, the Queen’s first day of celebrating. I wasn’t disappointed as my favorite Mango Ceylon Tea made its way to my counter bright and early this morning. It’s much more expensive than I would ever put into our grocery budget (even though on the whole it’s not overpriced). So it is a true blessing. And I’ll be stretching it out to make it last well into the next 3-4 months (maybe I’ll get some more for Valentine’s Day).
Freebies for your birthday abound and so over the next 6 days, I’ll be sharing with you some of my favorite birthday Freebie Items and where you can sign up so that you can throw yourself a week long celebration on your next birthday, too!

Hope you have a marvelous week! Truly a thoughtful husband! What a blessing. I should adopt this idea and do the same for my husby. Feeling like I might just do it sometime soon, though, because he doesn’t have a birthday until March and Father’s Day is still too far away!

Thank you so much Ladies Adrienne and Jackie. I LOVE birthdays in general and feel well loved by that man of mine. 🙂 I like the idea of celebrating one another without occasion Adrienne. Go for it. I look forward to my week every year.
