What Do You Do Wednesday? Back to School Gifts?

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

August 12, 2009 By Cherie Lowe

I’m kicking around the idea of finding a little something special to have waiting for the Eldest Princess when she gets off the bus on Friday (besides the plate of hot chocolate chip cookies that the Betty Crocker recessive gene in me simply MUST make).  Now when giving gifts to the girls, I strive to make them meaningful and useful (and if has to be, fun; hee, hee.).  And of course, I don’t like to drop a ton of coin.  So I’m looking for suggestions today of something that A) the Eldest Princess would adore B) is not junkety crap C) doesn’t cost much D) screams “Hooray!  You’re in 2nd Grade.  You Go Sister Girl!”  So please give me a hand and make some suggestions today of a thoughtful gift.

What about something useful for school that you didn’t already get? A cool new thermos, a special pencil holder, headbands to match some of her new clothes…

Don’t know if your little one is into cooking, but at that age I really was! A kids cookbook like this one might be cool:

I haven’t seen this particular one, but the reviews look pretty positive. Just a thought…

Does she like Webkinz? DD loves Webkinz and they make a pretty inexpensive gift. How about the Owl for school since they are so wise. 😉

These are all great suggestions! Thanks Ladies. I will continue mull over the ideas and definitely announce what I decided upon on here on Friday.
