So I realized the other day that I never updated you on what I ended up getting the Eldest Princess on the first day of school to celebrate her wonderful Second Grade self. Here is what was waiting for her when she got off of the bus on Friday:
That’s right it was a beautiful . . . placemat (complete with milk spots that I had apparently not wiped off before I took this picture). Because I completely FORGOT. Whoops. It was late in the day on Friday when dear Lady Jules e-mailed to say how excited she and those around her were for the Back to School Bus Stop Breakfast Buffet, telling me what a fantastic mama I was (thankya very much, ego properly inflated) and then asked what did I end up getting (ego promptly and properly deflated). Uh yeah, I spaced it with all of the preparations for the first day. Rather than rushing out and just throwing something together (and probably spending way too much money on something she didn’t need), I decided to wait and surprise her with something good on the second day of second grade.
I was at Target over the weekend and was able to peruse the One Spot (Target’s $1/$2.50 section). All Red Dot items are 75% off right now people! And they had a crazy load of stuff. Including some PERFECT things for the Eldest Princess. The King and I happened to find 1) Super Girl Stickers 2) A Super Girl Magnetic Notepad 3) A Super Girl Sticker Book with more Stickers (She LOVES SuperGirl Stuff) 4) Some Rock Star Bubble Bath 5) A cute little mirror 6) A new headband for her sassy new ‘do 7) A Rock Star Bag to put it all in and for her to use when we go to the library. Anyone want to guess how much I spent total on this haul?
$2.51+tax. Yep, I pretty much rock. You might want to peek at your Target’s One Spot. She was thrilled when she found her bag on the 2nd Day of 2nd Grade. You can be a Superhero to your kid without spending a lot or nothing at all. As always, remember to spend time and not money on those you love! Your kids want you more than they want new stuff.

What cute gifts! And, 75% off the 1-Spot at Target is a crazy good deal. Hopefully the Eldest Princess was delighted with her Back-To-School surprise!
