Whoops, I just realized that I haven’t done my annual free Father’s Day Photo at Picture People. We do a 10×13 every year and the King chronicles the growth of his girls on his office wall. I need to call and make an appointment but I’m betting they’ll be swamped with people doing the same thing. Shoot. They run a similar promotion almost every month so maybe we’ll get the annual photo taken a bit later if I can’t get us in for an appointment.
If the King is anything it’s lowkey. As we’re paying off all of our debt, he’s requested a pretty strict no gift (for him) policy for all holidays. So I try to do things that are either free or next to it to celebrate him (shocker, I know). It’s hard because I want to spoil him with things he loves but I know it’s more important to honor his wishes than get him trinkets and cards. It’s the best way to show that I respect him and love him, too. So sometimes, I do things to celebrate him that don’t take any extra purchasing power, like make a favorite meal, wash socks, or clean out a closet. What about you? What do you do to celebrate the special Dads in your life without spending a lot of dough?

Mr. King at my house always requests a backrub…so I suppose I should give him one for father’s day…we’re honoring the “no gift for me” declaration at our house too 😉 However, he’s getting a sweet extra long quilt for Christmas 😉

That boy would need an extra long quilt wouldn’t he? it’s hard for me to honor the no gift thing since I’m a gift giver but it’s better to respect and do what he wants than over-do it.

I don’t know if you saw my post this week about Big Huge Labs but I am making a motivational picture (using a picture that has the dad or grandpa in it) and framing them in frames I got a while back at the dollar store. We also usually cook a special dinner that day.
