Greetings Money Saving Lords & Ladies! Each week, I am blessed with the opportunity to share with WTHR viewers my best money saving and debt slaying tips. I wanted to update you on a “next step” in the Queendom. Good news, it just *might* help you save more money and slay more debt, too.
What: I’m writing a book, tentatively titled Slaying the Debt Dragon: Our Royal Fairytale of Paying Off $127K Debt & Why We Think You Can, Too (I’m guessing it might change because it’s 3 miles long). This work shares our personal “Debt Slaying Journey” of paying off $127,482.30 in debt with practical tips for frugal living as well as whimsical inspiration. With a touch of fairytale and the day-to-day grit that it takes to climb out of a pit to slay your nemesis, you will both be encouraged and have the skills that it takes to begin your own financial happily ever after.
Why: A couple of weeks ago, I attended the phenomenal Re:Write Conference in Austin, TX. Back in August, I submitted a proposal for my book to the writing contest sponsored by Tyndale Momentum in conjunction with the conference. I was floored to discover I had made the Top 5 & at the conference they announced I won the contest.
What’s Next?: I’m in the process of learning how the publishing world works (cue the Clueless music). I’m excited to be working with the Fedd Agency to navigate the waters of releasing my very first book. I’m also burning up my keyboard completing the manuscript within in the next few weeks. More than likely, the book will be retitled and cover work developed during the end of 2013. Then we’ll launch into the editing process, fine tuning the content and style of the book. I’m certainly excited but a little nervous, too!
When Will The Book Release?: Again it’s all tentative, but right now we are aiming for a release date sometime in September of next year. I’m going to do my very best to make that happen.

Why I Decided to Write the Book: This summer, I felt a very strong call on my heart to share our story so others could find the same financial freedom we have discovered. Back in 2012, when we were the people who HAD $127k in debt instead of had paid off $127k in debt, I felt SO alone – like I was the only one who had problems with money. Surely, no one else understood what that loneliness and stress felt like. The desire of my heart is for others realize they are not alone and that there is always hope for their finances, no matter how grim things seem.
Where Will You Be Able to Buy It?: It should be available in both print and digital formats everywhere books are sold.
How Can You Help?: I’d love for you to share the book with you friends and family! You are my very best publicist. So when you get a chance, share the story of this crazy redheaded girl who likes to wear a plastic crown and carry a big coupon binder. If our story has been of any encouragement at all to you, please tell someone you know. Point them to the website, buy them a copy of the eBook, or ask them to follow me on Facebook or Twitter. I’m so excited for you!! Also, I’m really happy I found you too. Can’t wait to read your book. My hubby and I have struggled through debt and are in a great place now but our young adult kids are at a big learning phase of their own regarding finances.
