Catch me tomorrow morning on Sunday’s WTHR Weekend Sunrise at 7:45 AM. Here’s a sneak peek of the money saving tips that I’ll be sharing!
Deliver a letter to Santa: If you’re looking for a special way to mail your list to the North Pole this year, check out Santa’s Mailbox on Monument Circle {Nov. 14-Dec. 13}. Santa will personally respond {He does like self-addressed stamped envelopes, though. The economy has been rough on Father Christmas himself} and you have special direct express access on the east side of Monument Circle facing Market Street.
All Aboard The Polar Express: While not totally free, this is probably my favorite deal of the holiday season. The IMAX at the Indiana State Museum downtown is offering FREE kids’ admission with paid adult ticket to Friday and Saturday night showings of The Polar Express when your kiddos wear their jammies {now through Christmas}. Parking is always validated so if you’ve got some extra spending money from Grandma this month, this is a great way to enjoy a Christmas classic.
City Sidewalks on Georgia Street: December 7th-9th, don’t miss your opportunity to ice skate for FREE on the streets of downtown Indianapolis. It’s something reminiscent to a Christmas movie classic as the City Sidewalks on Georgia Street special weekend offers everything from FREE ice skating {including your skates} to FREE Santa Visits {Omni Severin Downtown Hotel, Ballroom lobby, Dec. 8 and 9 from 1 – 4 p.m} to a live nativity and more! This is an event not to be missed. More details here.
Indiana History Center FREE Admission Days: I’m a history geek and hands down one of our favorite destinations in downtown Indianapolis is the Indiana History Center. On both December 15th {as a gift to you!} and during Winterfest {December 26-29}, there will be FREE admission to this world class attraction.
The Indianapolis Children’s Museum: Each year on Christmas Eve, the Children’s Museum offers FREE admission. And every month, they offer FREE admission on the first Thursday of the month from 4-8 PM {That’s THIS Thursday December 6}. Follow my tips for a successful visit on what will be a very busy day.
Visit Indy’s Hoosier Holidays: Want to make a weekend of holiday fun? Check out TONS of hotel discounts, coupons, and more that are a part of Visit Indy’s Hoosier Holidays promotion. You can save up to 50% off a hotel stay!
Discounts at the Indiana State Museum and the Indianapolis Zoo: Want to visit the Indianapolis Zoo? It’s a great time to do so with the Christmas at the Zoo celebration. Go here and scroll down to read ways to score discounts on admission to this yearly holiday event. If you visit the day during the daytime hours, be sure you purchase your tickets online and save $1 off of regular admission prices! The Indiana State Museum is also offering a GREAT coupon. You can snag $2 off/person {up to 4 people} now through January 30, 2013 with this printable coupon. It’s a perfect time to head to Celebration Crossings!
FREE Light Displays: My personal favs are Reynolds Farm Equipment in Fishers {nope, they didn’t cancel after all} and Music Light Shows at Rascal’s Fun Zone in Whiteland {formerly Not Enough Lights}. But of course the Circle itself is always a display of lighted splendor as are many neighborhoods throughout the city.
What free events or money saving offers are your favorite this holiday season in the Circle City?
