I don’t know a Money Saving Lord or Lady who doesn’t need a little extra help organizing when it comes to back to school time! With all of the school supplies, clothes, and miscellaneous items to purchase, it can become a little dizzying. So, rather than lose your mind, check out some of these great Adroid Apps I found with the help of Lady Kyle and the good folks at Verizon.
- ShopSavvy (FREE), which enables you to use your phone’s camera to scan barcodes to find the best prices for online and local items
- Simple Shopping List (FREE), through which you create a comprehensive shopping list to make sure you don’t forget anything
- Size Chart ($0.99), which stores the different clothing sizes for the people on your shopping list, helping cut down on returns and multiple trips to the store
- Discount Calculator (FREE), which quickly calculates store discounts and determines exactly how much you will really save
- OI Shopping List (FREE), through which you can track your shopping, listing items, quantities and prices.
- Overstock.com Mobile Shopping (FREE), which enables you to search, browse and select items available on the Overstock.com website, saving up to 70% off name brand products
- Voice Actions for Android, in which parents can verbally tell their phones to call, email or text a contact, set the alarm, go to a website, get driving directions, or email a note to themselves (this app allows parents to save valuable time while on the go or carrying bags and can’t type on their devices).
If you are interested in guest posting on the Back to School Bonanza, please e-mail me! I’m particularly looking for posts sharing tips to saving with a student in Middle School, Shoe shopping tips, and sports/extra curricular savings!
