Again, I apologize for my absence due to a little extra time at the dentist this week. It’s put me a bit behind on my writing schedule but today I’m working hard for you to get back on track online.
Last week, I was chatting briefly with a good friend from college, Sir Brodie. I mentioned that I would be in the Daily Journal this week with fitness tips on the cheap and he had a great one for me to share with you.
You see Sir Brodie is on a fitness quest himself, using little to no equipment and working out at home. And lest you think this is a “Boys Only” sort of club, his wife the noble and beautiful Lady Andrea is on the same quest. And now, so is the Queen. That quest is to be able to do 100 push ups straight through a 6 week interval training program that includes you guessed it, a lot of push-ups.
hundredpushups.com has everything you need to know about taking on this quest yourself. There’s info on what a proper push up looks like (no girlie push ups ladies, you CAN do the real thing. Alright you can do the girlie ones to begin with but don’t be afraid to try the big boy style once you get used to doing push ups), why you should think about push ups as a part of your regular fitness regimen, and the initial test to see where you should begin in the training program. And then each of the six weeks is charted out so that you can begin your 30 minutes 3 times a week road to being able to do 100 push ups! It looks very simple and I’m excited to do this very manageable workout for awhile. You can even log your push ups online to keep track of your goals and accomplishments!
One of the best things about this work out is that you can move on twohundredsquats.com, twohundredsitups.com, and twentyfivepullups.com after you mastered all that pushing up! These basic fitness moves require NO equipment and are fabulous for whipping you into crazy strength and cardio shape. There’s also a App for your iPod (only 99 cents right now!) or iPhone AND there’s a book, too if you want to spend $ but everything you need for the plan is on the site and of course free!
In case you were wondering, my initial push up count (again doing the regular push up with my knees OFF the ground 🙂 ), is . . . let me go and do them . . . WHEW 15! Better than I thought it would be. So hopefully next week I can share that I’ve increased that number.
Hope this site helps you get Buff on a Budget and Indeed Get Something for Nothing!
