Hi everyone. I have to admit I was a bit more lazy this week. *meh*. I’m still making my little Wii Mii work out on a regular basis and the number are still going down (which I’m very thankful for because I feel like I’m doing very little). But I’m beginning to wonder if the reason why the numbers are declining have more to do with being Restaurant Free. If I see the label and I know it’s awful for me, something within me just won’t let me eat it. If I don’t know the numbers I’m more likely to indulge. Either way, I’ll take it.
I’m excited for Blissdom this week and hoping for continued to success when it comes to being fit. Obviously I can’t bring our Wii with us (packing that balance board would be a bear). So I’ll be working out at the hotel and on Saturday AM, there’s a conference wide 1 hour walk of the grounds at Opryland Hotel that I signed up to do. I think that will be great! I’ve also thought about throwing some handweights into my luggage to use in the room to workout.
Speaking of handweights, I think they’re a must have if you’re working out at home. You can find them relatively cheap and build your set over time. I’d start with a pair of 5 lbs dumbbells if you don’t have any. You can pick them up on Amazon (4.39/weight right now for 5 lbers), at any big box, or a sporting goods store. OR watch yard sales this spring/summer. People tend to toss the New Year’s Resolutions by mid March and their lack of resolve could strengthen yours! If you have no idea where to begin, I’d suggest a free download like the “15 Minute Dumbbells” one on Women’s Health Magazine.
WH has a whole host of free work out downloads for whatever area you want to work (with or without dumbbells). They’re designed for iPods/iPhones/Zunes/etc. However, you can still download them and play them on your computer. They give great instruction and are handy if you’re on the go!
So let’s hope by next Tuesday, I’m able to tell you I took things up a notch even though I was busy with Blissdom! Good luck to you as you continue to get “Buff on a Budget,” too!
