So today, a miracle occurred. I found my planner. This wouldn’t be such a big deal except I haven’t had it for the entire month. It was “hiding” under the couch, covered in dust, and still opened to December. It’s been one of those months where I’ve felt like I’ve been on the run or stuck at home. No in between, no coasting. Busy busy busy! SNOWED IN. Rinse, repeat.
I love to meal plan but with the number of days when we’ve been snow bound, I must admit I’ve lacked inspiration. Some days, I’m fixing a full lunch and dinner for the Royal Family. Upside: We haven’t eaten at a restaurant all month. Downside: I am pretty weary in the kitchen.
Dinner time is probably the craziest hour of the day. Someone is asking for help with homework. Someone is practicing the clarinet (learning to play the clarinet is difficult! Listening to someone learning to play the clarinet . . . well you can probably guess). I’m typically trying to both unload and reload the dishwasher, a task I surely should have completed earlier in the day (if only I could have found my planner earlier!). Plus timing every element of a meal to come out right and landing said items on the table typically leaves me standing while I woof down my dinner and refill cups of water for the Princess.
I don’t know about you but I long for something more at dinner time.
Enter Home Run Inn Pizza.
Home Run Inn Pizza is a fourth generation owned family business. Beginning with a local pizzeria in Chicago in 1923, the company has a longtime tradition of bringing tasty and natural ingredients to families. One trip around 465 right now reveals a number of billboard announcing Home Run Inn’s official arrival to the greater Indianapolis area. As I was checking out of Mejier today (Home Run Inn is also sold at Marsh and Kroger), a gentleman leaned over greedily eyeing my thick crust sausage pizza (go big or go home) and said, “I’ve never seen that brand of pizza before! It looks so good.” Since I’ve been doing my homework on Home Run Inn, I provided a 45 second commercial to everyone in line about the fact that Consumer Reports has consistently named Home Run Inn #1 in their rankings for delivered and frozen pizza. AND Home Run Inn is the #1 selling frozen pizza Chicago (I hear they know a little something about pizza up there). Also, I mentioned it was on sale. You’re welcome Meijer.
Bottom line, dinner time is about coming together as a family. Occasionally, I choose to breathe deep and nix my typical “from scratch” routine. Honestly, I’d rather stare deeply into the eyes of these people:
and ask them about their day than hurry and scurry around the kitchen in a frantic mess. Home Run Inn Pizza provides me not just a yummy meal, but more time with the people I love.
That Money Saving Lords and Ladies is priceless.

It really is tasty pizza huh!? And I agree…too many snowed and frozen in days. We are all going a bit stir-crazy! 🙂

I like cooking from scratch too, but sometimes the craziness of life is just too much. Frozen pizzas have saved me more then once feeding my hungry family. My families favorite in meat lovers, but I like cheese myself.

I did this last night. Thurs are a late evening dinner for us. Needed a break from all the prep.

I absolutely love their cheese pizza! I’ve been feeling a little weary with meal planning inspiration. And since my kids can’t have preservatives and artificial colors, I’m pretty much stuck cooking from scratch nearly every night! 🙂 So glad I discovered Home Run Inn!

Love the “breathe deep, eat pizza.” Also love your Meijer store sales pitch! Ha. The pizza really is good though.

I make a LOT of things from scratch. But rarely pizza. I like just throwing this in the oven and not having to worry about whether or not we will like it~ we always do!
