Happy New Year! The ball has dropped, the merriment has passed, and perhaps today has been one of sobering up. Maybe you didn’t overdo it on holiday spirits, but if you’re like most of the population, your December = way too many calories and dollar spent. While there is never a “good” time to begin paying off debt, a new year and a blank sheet just might be the inspiration you need.

I’ve said it many, many times before. Paying off debt isn’t complex. It’s just not easy. You have to punch the clock daily and do the hard work.
Day 1: Believe
But here’s what I know about you. You have what it takes to pay off debt. You’re smart enough. You’re skilled enough. And I know you can slay your own debt dragon. As an introduction to this series, can you promise me you’ll lean in close, listen, and hear that paying off debt isn’t:

I’ve met so many people who have successfully paid off enormous sums (I mean way more than you owe, times three). Our own story involved us paying off over $127K in debt in 4 years. The common denominator for anyone who is successful in kicking debt in the teeth is that they believe that change is possible. They believe there is a way out. They believe that with Grace, they can overcome the oppression of debt and break its hold on their lives.
I’m guessing you might have clicked over to this series hoping for more concrete steps for debt elimination. You may have longed for money strategies and frugal living ideas.
