Alright ladies, hitch up your skirts and put on your toolbelts! Mark your calendar for October 23rd and go to Home Depot’s Do-It-Herself Free Workshop on winterization. Learn how to properly wield a caulking gun, fix drafts, work with your HVAC and more (and if you have no clue what any of that stuff is, you REALLY need to go!). Have dad put the kids to bed and meet your gal pals for a 90 minute workshop that could help you save plenty ‘o pennies this winter. Plus at the end of things they will give you a $10 off coupon (granted it’s off a $100 purchase but if you have fall and winter projects at hand, it could be useful).
I always knew that Home Depot ran nifty free workshops for kiddos (like these – one tomorrow where you can build a firetruck – how cool is that – or one in November where you construct your own leaf press); however, I did not know that they had any ladies only workshops. I LOVE this concept as I’m a fairly Handy Queen, but feel intimidated from time to time in front of the Lords. They always seem to know just a bit more. So maybe I can beef up and wow all of my fella friends with my new found knowledge from the helpful folks @ Home Depot. I’ll bump this to remind you in a couple of weeks in case you forget to mark your calendar.
Here’s what Home Depot’s site has to say about the kids’ workshops in case you’re interested:
The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.
In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.
