Today’s Giveaway – Avon Handcreams!

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

December 5, 2008 By Cherie Lowe

So I feel like a bit of a fibber since I had hoped to get Giveaways started on Wednesday and am just now getting to it!  But it has given me a few more days to test out the products myself so I can give you a bit of a review at the same time.

Courtesy of Avon and MomSelect , the Queen brings you four tubes of holiday themed hand creams.  Aren’t they adorable?  And they feature 4 different tried and true formulas of Avon’s best hand care: Vita Moist (Santa), Skin So Soft Soft & Sensual Replenishing Hand Cream (Polar Bear), Moisture Therapy Intensive Hand Cream For Extremely Dry Skin (Mr. Penguin), Silicone Glove Hand Cream (Snowman).  I have been using both the Silicone Glove and Moisture Therapy tubes this on the tops of my hands.  Let’s just say that I may or may not have burned the top layer of skin of my hands off with antibacterial goo and soap after last week’s stomach bug.

First off, the scent is great which is HUGE in our household.  They are fairly mild in smell and the King has not even noticed which is awesome because there are few products that I can use which don’t effect him adversely.  It does smell a little bit like my Grandma, but in a good way.  I think she was a big fan of Skin So Soft in the 1980s.

Secondly, the price is perfect – 99 cents a tube!  What great stocking stuffers and host gifts for a holiday party.  I plan on giving a tube to my neighbor and one to a girlfriend who just had a baby.  Go here to order your own.

AND just for those in the Queendom:  If you shop with an e-Representative by clicking here – you get all sorts of personalized treatment AND free standard shipping on orders of $30 or more by using the code JINGLE30 (code is good until Jan. 1, 2009 so shop today!).

Now, for the good part:  Leave a comment with your favorite holiday tradition to be entered into a drawing for these cutie patootie lotions to either keep for yourself or give away.  Winner to be announced on Monday December 8th.

Visit through the weekend for 2 more great giveaways!

Congratulations to Lady Mindy, winner of this giveaway!  Check out the other Avon giveaways, one to be announced on Tuesday December 9th and one to be announced on Wednesday December 10th.

My favorite childhood Christmas tradition was eating a huge breakfast of cinnamon rolls, cheesy scrambles eggs, smoked sausage and hot Christmas wassail. Afterwards we would read the Christmas story from the book of Luke. Finally we would pick someone to pass out the gifts and take turns opening them.

As a child my two favorite things were to decorate the Christmas tree and to TRY to stay up late enough to go to midnight mass!

The first Christmas after I graduated from college and for the remainder of my single years I had the tradition of putting up my tree and decorating on the Wed after Thanksgiving and watching the lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree on TV. Sometimes I was by myself, and sometimes roommates and other friends turned it into a party.

This tradition got derailed as soon as we were married because we went on our honeymoon the week after Thanksgiving. But that’s ok, maybe I’ll just keep the memory of that tradition reserved for that time in my life. 🙂 Merry Christmas Queen! I hope I win! 🙂

My favorite tradition growing up was putting the Christmas tree up Thanksgiving night. I always looked forward to that. My new favorite tradition is the family shirts. My future favorite tradition is Disney World as we plan on going back every five years. Four lotions, four kids stockings, how perfect.

I don’t really have a fave Christmas tradition from my childhood… but I have a few that we’ve started with our family that I want to make sure we continue. One is getting all the kids new pj’s that they get on Christmas eve to sleep in that night.

My sister and I acted out the story of Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus every Christmas Eve. Somehow I was always Joseph????? 🙂

My favorite tradition is Cookie Day. Everyone(there’s 9 of us now) comes over early and bakes all day long. I have gingerbread aprons and chef hats for all of us, this is quite a site! Everyone has to bring a new recipe to try and everyone goes home with boxes of goodies.
