Toot Your Own Horn Tuesday

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

March 31, 2009 By Cherie Lowe

Good day, Lords and Ladies!  This morning our family is off to the Children’s Museum (a must if you ever visit or live in the Indianapolis area).  We’re looking forward to some Spring Break family fun.  Since we are on a bit of break from our normal routine and since I stocked up on several things, I haven’t done much shopping.  Not a whole lot to report about my favorite deal or purchase of the week.  I have spent some time pricing out plastic Easter eggs at numerous places, trying to score the best deal on them.  We’re planning a large scale egg hunt for a local community so I’m in the market for a large number of eggs.  Anyway, the best price I’ve discovered thus far is the 48 pack @ Target for $1.99.  Have you seen any priced better than that?  That makes them approximately 4 cents per egg.

What about you, what great deal have you scored this week?  Come on now, toot your own horn.  🙂

I went to Meijer (in Greenwood off 135) and scored 3 bottles of Kraft Dressing for 5 cents each! They are originally $1.88/bottle. Clipped 3 $1.50/1 and $1/3(Meijer MealBox)! Super excited, time to stock-up!

Love the Children’s Museum! I’m afraid my kids will get lost in the Lego exhibit and never come back out! We are doing the Zoo over our spring break since we cut out our Florida vacay this year! Have a good week!

We did the zoo on Friday. What a great day. When asking my six year old what his favorite part was, he replied, “All of it!” He never tires of the zoo, and it was free. We bought a family pass last year for around $100 for our family of six. We have been four times so far and have two more trips planned before we expire.

I know you are boring drink people, but my hubby isn’t. He enjoys his Coke/Pepsi. Target is having 5 for $15 of Pepsi products, including 12 packs. I had 5 coupons from a superbowl rebate $2 off each Pepsi product, So, 5 12 packs of Pepsi =$15, 5 $2 coupons =-$10. Oh, This also qualified for a $5 gift card!
