I’ve been trolling the internet this AM, seeing what I find for you in the way of free music. Here’s what I’ve got:
Also available from Walmart, “Hesitation Blues” by Willie Nelson and Asleep at the Wheel. Walmart has a free track like this one available every week, just like iTunes and it looks like they’ve opened a new $0.64 Shop with older tracks at a discounted rate.
Amazon always has over 500 free tracks available for download. You can get lost in the list, so be careful how you spend your time. I went for Gavin DeGraw’s “Young Love” One Tree Hill (yes, I do pretend I’m in high school every once and awhile). And on Amazon’s homepage for mp3 music they have some featured 69 cent downloads, too.
All of the 64/69 cent madness has probably been caused by iTunes restructuring their pricing this week, dividing songs into price points of $1.29/$0.99/$0.69. I love the idea of the cheaper tracks because I hate paying a buck for obscure stuff that I have to find from time to time for church (i.e. I downloaded a karaoke version of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood not too long ago); however, I don’t like the thirty cent push on most new releases. 🙁 Sorry iTunes. Long have I loved you but it’s just as easy for me to go elsewhere now. On iTunes this week, there is an 11 minute audiobook download of the Easter Story from Thomas Nelson. Looks pretty good. And as usual a song from a band I don’t recognize that is sure to become a smash hit and I’ll be kicking myself for not downloading. Scroll to the bottom of the Store page to get to those and other free offerings.
Some pretty awesome Hymns for download for your Easter Weekend. (Thanks Sir Andy!). Not your average organ music for you non-hymners, no roller skating feel to these tracks.
If you didn’t pick up the free Dan Zanes album last week for your kiddos, do it now. Both princesses love it and I find myself pretty happy when I’m listening to it (it puts the King to sleep which means I try not to play it in the car while he’s driving).

Ok, I have a wondermous trip to Aldi and Target planned today to score some great deals for Easter! I’ll report back on the savings tomorrow. Make your day great.
