What Do You Do Wednesday?

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

Good morning Lords and Ladies it’s time for yet another What Do You Wednesday.  My question today, what do you do to save money on entertainment?  One of our favorite ways to save money on renting movies is to use the library.  Our library rents entertainment movies for $1 per movie and kids’ movies (including many recent releases like Bolt) are free for 7 days!  I use the online catalog to reserve a movie/get on the waiting list and then they e-mail me when it’s ready.  I simply swing by the counter and pick it up.  It’s so easy and I know that the money I spend renting the movies there goes back into the library which provides so many wonderful services to the community.  So what about you?  What do you do to save money on entertainment?

After cutting cable, we have been using Netflix for movies and such. They have that awesome watch online feature too for those times we are waiting for movies to arrive.

We cut our satellite at the first of the year and I haven’t missed it. I know hubby has, but he is trying to be positive. We do use hulu.com since we have DSL. We also borrow movies from family members. Also, our church has been putting on a once a month family dinner & a movie night.
