So I have been almost stockpiling a post worth of great ideas for cheap summer fun! I have a feeling this is going to be a long one so buckle your seat belts Lords and Ladies. Let’s save some cash together this summer.
- For you water bugs, here’s where you can sign up to get some free Test Strips from Aqua Chem for your pool. Be sure to check the box for the free sample.
- Lady Bargain Briana tells your teens how to score some free soft serve ice cream (is there anything better on a hot day?) from Baskin Robbins in July. Go here to check it out!
- I missed the boat on this one and am SO sad but maybe in your area there are openings. Apple offers AWESOME summer camps for kids 8-12 and darn their parents have to come along every summer for FREE. The Keystone one is full BOOHOO. I’d better mark my calendar for next year and take the eldest princess to learn a little something while I do, too!
- Lowe’s has Build and Grow Clinics on June 13th (Putting Green) and June 27th (Pirate Ship). Home Depot has Kids Workshops coming up this summer June 6th (Hardware Sorter) and July 4th (Picnic Caddy).
- Sir Goob @ Hey It’s Free has a great Round Up Post of the numerous Summer Reading Programs available to your kiddos, including Barnes & Noble, Borders, Half Priced Books, Pottery Barn, Scholastic, and more.
- Our absolute favorite Indianapolis area free event of the summer is ALWAYS Let’s Meet PBS Kids in the Park to be held on June 27th this summer. With free bounce houses, face painting, and of course all of your favorite PBS characters this is the can’t miss it experience every summer for us. It will be AWESOME to see the youngest princess’ face this summer as she meets Cookie Monster, Duck from Word World, Curious George, and more of her favorite friends! Many PBS stations have similar events and they are well worth it!
- For those that dwell near the geographic Queendom, the Greenwood Public Library is doing free outdoor movies this summer: The Pink Panther (June 19th), the Sandlot (July 10th), and Mary Poppins (July 24th). There are also a ton of other free opportunities for adults and kids through the Summer Reading Program. Go here for all of the details.
- The Greenwood Community Center also has lots of great and well priced programs, including a summer kick off picnic with free dinner on June 5th! From Band Concerts to Shakespeare in the Park, from the annual Freedom Festival (another family favorite) to Summer Camps and more, there’s plenty of fun to be had without dropping a ton of cash! Check out your own libraries and community centers for ideas in your area.
