Hi Lords and Ladies. Yawn. I’m tired. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a little fun to be on my own these past few days. I’ve gone shopping with just the baby (a little easier to manage as long as she doesn’t try to cart surf), I’ve gotten a ridiculous amount of things done (Perhaps all of those, May I have some milk? Can I have something out of the snack basket? Can I watch a movie? Is it lunch time? What are we going to do today? questions add up?), and watched two movies of my choosing. I’ve painted my nails, showered frequently which is really counterintuitive, read, worked out, and surfed the net.
But even with all of the fun I’ve had, I hate being here at night alone. I admit it. I’m a big baby. So I go to bed way too late (which furthers my uneasiness) and then usually don’t sleep too well when the King is gone. Last night was no exception except (like that?), the baby had a fever all night long and the longest period of time she slept continually was 3 hours. Ugh. Today she seems to be on the mend. I honestly think she’s missing her sister. 🙁 She kept crying her name last night. She’s back to playing and watching Elmo this AM so who knows. She’s in one of those weird stages of childhood where they can’t really verbalize what’s going on and so you play a grand guessing game. Is it teeth? A tummy ache? Something coming on? A cold? A freakish happenstance?
Today will be filled with laundry and packing (after I blog of course!), preparing the girls to head to their grandparents’ today and for us to leave bright and early in the AM for Chi-town. Thank you so much for all of your sweet Tweets, e-mails, comments, and FB messages concerning places to visit on a dime! You guys are swell. I will definitely blog (with pics) so that you can see where we go/what we do.
But back to the packing notion. I LOVE bags. I always travel with a 150 of them. It’s not that I have an extensive wardrobe but just that I love to have anything and everything I might need to relax. Books, magazines, podcasts, camera, laptop, snacks, my bottle of unsweetened tea, my coupon binder of course, all of my favorite extras. The canvas reusable grocery bag was one of the greatest inventions of my lifetime. I’m so glad they’ve become popular. I use them for everything (and my groceries, too), especially packing to go somewhere. So here’s today’s tip of the day: If you have to buy a gift this year, pick up one of those instead of a gift bag. The gift receiver will love it and it’s the gift that keeps on giving. 🙂 And I’m betting you can get one cheaper than a gift bag, too!
Have a great day! I’m SO looking forward to seeing the Eldest Princess and the King today. I’ve missed them bunches. Hopefully I’ll sleep easier tonight.

I LOVE bags too! Toys R Us has the absolute cutest and they are only 1.49 each. I always use them for gift bags and I always take mine shopping with me.
i can relate. i always have an uneasy feeling whenever superman is away. i just can’t seem to sleep without him somewhere in our home! so, when he’s not around, i rarely get any shut-eye!
i hope your girls are feeling better!
have a great trip!
