Hey everybody. The Queen here. Pardon me. I believe I have a bit of a birthday hangover.
It seems to happen. every. year. on October 27th. Weird.
It’s not a hangover hangover (I’ve actually never had one of those – too scared of puking which I HATE to do). But it a hangover from taking it easy, indulging in more sweet treats than usual, and being a bit pampered. The evening of my birthday is always a little anti-climatic (after 7 days of celebrating high on the hog) and the morning after . . . WAH!!!!! Reality go somewhere else, I’d rather it be my birthday for at least one more day. And then maybe one more after that. And another, please? Darn.
So I’m here apologizing for being a little MIA and letting you know that along with laundry, dishes, meal prep and little people activities, QoF will be back on track in a non-hangover state in no time at all. To make up for my insolence, here are a few of the the favorite birthday freebies that I enjoyed last week.
McAlister’s Deli . . . they give you a $5/$5 coupon on your birthday. I used mine for an unsweetened tea and a cup of soup. YUM.
Noodles and Company . . . a free entree, no purchase necessary. Brought in my own tea (yep, that’s how I roll) and split the Bangkok Curry with Grilled Shrimp with the King. DELIGHTFUL.
Famous Dave’s . . . their birthday gift is a surprise. A little code prints on the e-mail and the server tells you what menu item you get – from a dessert to a BBQ Feast. We were blessed with a free appetizer.
Red Robin . . . LOVED my birthday burger, the Banzai. As a side note, it looks like there are some fraudulent Red Robin coupons floating around on the web right now, but sign up here and get the real deal.
Lone Star . . . haven’t gotten to use it yet but they send a coupon good for a free entree (no purchase necessary) up to $15. YIPPEEE! I usually wait until we go to Terre Haute to feast on some yummy grilled shrimp. It doesn’t expire for a little while so hopefully we’ll get to make good use of it.
Later today, look for our weekly meal plan (it’s going to look eerily similar because with all of the birthday freebies, I didn’t have to cook as much!). And I’ll begin to dig through some offers for you. There’s SO much available this week for Halloween that my head spins when I begin to think about it. If you’re local, be sure to be checking Indy’s Queen of Free all week long for Halloween festivities. AND I posted some costume tips a couple of weeks ago, too. Have a great Tuesday.
