I have to admit I’m a bit of Fitness informercial junkie. I don’t own too many homefitness products or systems in spite of this. And those pieces of equipment I do have, are gifts or I’ve picked up for free from friends who didn’t want them or need them anymore. The Firm – Supercharged Sculptingand the Transfirmer is a favorite of mine (anything by the FIRM really). The step is a little cumbersome when it comes to storage though. And I have a feeling the Youngest Princess would it use it for world domination if I left it out.
If a magic Home Fitness Fairy dropped by my little castle this evening, I know EXACTLY what I would ask for though. For a really long time, I’ve wanted a Bosu Trainer (think half of a resistance ball with a flat bottom) at home. This handy little tool helps you work your core at the same time as you do resistance work. I’ve used one many a time at the gym (back when we had a membership). I’ve always wanted to have one at home. The problem is, that bad boy costs close to $100 that this girl simply doesn’t have in her fitness budget.
In the meantime until the Home Fitness Fairy does make an appearance, I’ll have to settle with either using my Big Blue Resistance Ball for some core work. Or you can also balance on one foot while doing upper body work with free weights to get more of a core workout while lifting weights. It works on the same principle even if it isn’t quite as effective or cool.
Personal Royal Update: I did lose a couple more pounds in March bringing me to about a total of 12 lbs. on the year. That’s exactly the slow and steady pace I had been hoping for. And on a whim last week, I decided I would take over someone’s Mini Marathon entry (thankyouverymuch Lady Brenda!) and run/walk the One America 500 Festival Mini Marathon. I then promptly injured my knee. 🙁 It’s getting better but I’ve been biking instead of running. Say a little prayer that it will heal quickly this week. It’s killing me not to run in the beautiful sunshine outside my window. 🙁 Hope your personal fitness quest is going well, too! You CAN get buff on a budget.
