Welcome back to Debt Free Disney, a series of posts designed to help you plan a vacation you’ll never forget without any financial baggage. If you’re just joining us, be sure to read Debt Free Disney: Saving For Your Vacation and How We Saved Money By Booking A Disney Vacation with Gift Cards.
Since I shared yesterday a comparative analysis of where you can purchase Disney Gift Cards for less than face value, I thought that today it would be fun to share ways to earn free Disney Vacation Gift Cards. There are a number of great rewards programs you can utilize to begin socking away points to cash in to get at least a portion of your Disney Vacation paid for FREE – or maybe all of it if you’re super dedicated and have the time. Here are a few of my favorite programs.
Swagbucks
I don’t talk about it as often as I used to, but I’m still a huge fan of Swagbucks, an online search engine where you routinely get rewarded for looking up stuff online, taking surveys, printing coupons, and more. While Swagbucks does not currently have Disney gift cards in their shop, you could still opt to turn your rewards into Target, Sam’s Club, or even Paypal gift cards and turn around use those to purchase Disney Gift Cards, too. True story: I collected Swagbucks for YEARS and used them to pay for most of my last fancy pants laptop which has lasted me a very long time.
Sunshine Rewards
You know how it’s tricky to know what rewards and survey programs are legit and which ones are fishy? Sunshine Rewards is one I stand behind because I personally know the woman who runs it. My friend Tricia has actually had users pay for their entire Disney Vacation with rewards that they’ve used to buy Disney Gift Cards. No joke. You can earn points by referring friends (that’s my referral link since we’re friends), taking surveys, listening to an online radio station, signing up for Daily Deal e-mails, and more. You can cash in your rewards for PayPal and have the money in 30 days or for a number of awesome gift cards – including Disney (WOOT!) and have those within 4-6 weeks. It’s easy cheesy to use and super safe.
Shopkick
If you’ve been around these parts before, you’ve heard me talk about Shopkick, a fantastically easy to use app that allows you to collect “kicks” or points simply for walking into some of your favorite stores. You can gain more kicks by scanning products in the store, linking your debit card to the app and being rewarding for purchases, referring friends, and now even scanning your receipt if you buy certain products. I love it because it takes very little brain power and really not much time to rack up rewards. While there are not Disney Gift Cards on the site, there are Target and Walmart Gift cards, both which could be turned around to buy Disney Gift Cards.
Disney Movie Rewards
Disney Movie Rewards has long been one of my favorite rewards programs. You can collect points by entering codes that come in Disney DVDs or Blu-rays, from occasional codes released on social media, and by snapping a photo of your movie tickets from Disney releases. While the rewards rotate, there are Disney Experience rewards, occasionally gift cards, and lots of great Disney gear. So even if you don’t time things just right to snag a gift card, you could at least get souvenirs for free.
My Coke Rewards
So here’s the thing. We don’t drink Coke or any bubbly beverages. But for years, I’ve entered other people’s codes and used those to score free stuff. Disney Gift Cards aren’t currently in the rewards store; however, Target gift cards are and once again these can be used to purchase Disney Gift Cards.
Surveys, coupons, walk in rewards, movie tickets, and more . . . all can be used to make your next Disney Vacation more affordable or maybe even free!
Have you taken a Debt Free Disney vacation? Did you use gift cards to pay for it? What are your favorite rewards programs to score free gift cards? Leave them in the comments.

You mention the previous days post but I don’t see a link to get to it and don’t know how to find it. I tried a search but didn’t see. Can you help with link?

I just joined My Coke Rewards but the only Target/Walmart gift cards I see available in the rewards are E-cards. Can you still buy Disney gift cards with E-cards? I thought it had to be physical cards, bought in store.

Sunshine rewards is terrible to understand and keeps directing me to spam “surveys” that cause virus.
