Time is running out to show those who you love just how special they are. But if you haven’t figured out what to do for Valentine’s Day yet, have no fear. These last minute, affordable Valentine’s Day ideas will keep your sweetie (and your wallet) happy.
Carry Out Restaurant Deals
Both the chilly temperatures and the current COVID restrictions might make it difficult to go out for an evening on the town. But plenty of restaurants, both local and chain, are offering carry out deals this year for Valentine’s Day.
- Buca di Beppo: This one is the priciest at $59.95 but includes a heart shaped lasagna, salads, garlic bread, and mini cannoli.
- Chili’s: Appetizer, 2 entrees, and a dessert for $25.
- McAlister’s Deli: Kids eat free with the code BEMINE21.
- Olive Garden: Dinners for 2 ($36.99) or the full family ($46.99) include salads, bread, entrees, and dessert.
- Papa John’s: Heart shaped 1 topping thin crust pizza for $11
- Papa Murphy’s: Heartbaker Pizza for $10 (choice of cheese or pepperoni) or Sweetheart of a Deal with Heartbaker Pizza and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough $13
- Smokehouse Catering: 2 meals with choice of Sirloin or Escolar, sauteed vegetables, scalloped potatoes, and cheesecake for $40.
- Texas Roadhouse: 1 appetizer and 2 entrees for $39.95
Flowers
Getting flowers on actual Valentine’s Day might be challenging. But you can begin by calling a local florist to see if they have any last minute deals. Sam’s Club and Costco also always have lovely flowers at a lower cost. And your favorite big box retailer may have some options, too. But definitely don’t wait any longer. By the way, flowers are a lovely gift any day of the year, not just on February 14.
Check Off the To Do List
Your gift and date night options may be limited, but that project that your significant other has been bugging you to do is a great option to show your love. Whether it’s cleaning out a closet or changing a light bulb, your gift might not even cost a dime this year.
Online Subscriptions or Gift Cards
You can give a gift without leaving the house to shop. Consider giving your sweetie a gift card to a website they love. Or buy a digital subscription to make every day just a bit more lovely. For the music lover, SiriusXM or Spotify Premium. For the movie lover, HBO Max, Paramount+, or something offbeat like BritBox. For the fitness fan, I highly recommend the Peloton App (you don’t need a bike for it).
Spend Time Together
I know this year’s celebration may seem less than ideal, but spending time together really is the best gift you can give. Turn off your phone and close the ipad. And get in some quality time. Here are a few ideas:
- Snuggle up with some popcorn and watch a movie you watched on one of your first dates.
- Play a game – video game, board game, card game.
- Fix dinner together.
- Make a dessert to enjoy together.
- Take 10 minutes to write out a favorite memory with or quality of your Valentine and then swap love notes.
Don’t let the weather and COVID get you down, show your love with a little creativity and last minute flair this year.
