Hi friends! If you’re finding yourself at home with the kids and looking for some good, clean fun, the Princess Youngest Zoe has a great idea for you. It’s a simple 2 ingredient Soap Dough Recipe that’s fun for kids. She found the recipe on one of her favorite podcast websites – W.O.W. In the World.
Here’s Zoe at the W.O.W. In the World Popup Podcast Party last summer in Chicago.
I love this idea because it’s kind of like slime but with less mess and it encourages hand washing, too. Plus you don’t need a gazillion ingredients. You can find the original recipe here. Our modified recipe is as follows:
Simple 2 Ingredient D.I.Y. Soap Dough Recipe
- 1 Cup of Corn Starch
- 1/2 Cup Liquid Castille Soap
Mix together with a large spatula and then knead together with your hands. That’s it, friends.
We purchased 7 Minerals Pure Castile Soap from Amazon. Let’s just say the bottle will make plenty. It’s also a great multipurpose cleaner to use at home. We chose the brand because it was gluten and fragrance free. You could also add food coloring and/or essential oils or purchase a scented variety if you’d like. And we had corn starch in the cabinet.
Store your soap dough in an airtight container near the sink. The dough becomes bubbly and washes right off your hands so clean up is a snap.
Have fun and wash those hands! For a fuller explanation, the Princess Youngest will be did a Facebook Live you can watch here.
