Hi there, friends. It’s me – Cherie, the Queen of Free. This is my favorite time of the year because so many people are thinking about how to do better with their money. I LIVE to help you with this. And I’m going to do everything I can to cheer you along in your journey. As a recap, we paid off $127,482.30 in just under four years between 2008 and 2012. Then last year, that total doubled when we paid off our mortgage.
Getting out of debt isn’t sparkles and rainbows but I do feel like you can find joy in the journey. Each of these resources are designed to help you get the practical help and inspirational encouragement you need to get the job done.
Slaying the Debt Dragon
This is the book that shares our story of paying off the initial $127,482.30 – debts that were a combination of student loans, car loans, credit card debt, an unemployment loan, medical debt, furniture purchased on a payment plan – a mixed bag of all sorts of fun stuff. You can find it on Amazon and wherever books are sold. Plus, odds are good you can check it out from your library. If I could sit down at the kitchen table and chat with you, this is exactly what I’d say about how we did it. I love to write about the intersection of faith, money, and emotions. This is more than a nuts and bolts plan. It’s me running along side you and reminding you, you can do it.
The Financial Decluttering Challenge
Last year on Facebook, I launched a Financial Decluttering Challenge. Each assignment is limited to 10-15 minutes of time and designed to help you get your act together. Friends, it’s so simple and there’s a great community you can be a part of to cheer each other along. You can find most of the challenges here.
FREE Downloadable Meal Planner
I have a number of FREE downloads for you. Probably one of my favorites is the Downloadable PDF Meal Planner you can edit. Track your grocery lists and your weekly breakfast, lunch, dinners, and snacks all in one place. I typically fill my out online, print, and then put magnetic tape on the back of it so I can pop it on the fridge.
The Debt Free Devotional
If you know me, you know I’m a person of faith. The very first book I wrote is a devotional available on Kindle. The Debt Free Devotional: 30 Days of Encouragement From the Bible For Those Paying Off Debt walks you through scriptures that impacted me while we were paying off debt. Get encouragement for your soul. P.S. it’s only $0.99 for a limited time. And it’s free with Kindle Unlimited.
31 Debt Free Missions
I wrote the series 31 Debt Free Missions years ago, but these life lessons true to the course today. Each mission will take you less than an hour a day and lead you toward healthier finances.
Your Money, Your Marriage
In 2018, my husband Brian and I co-authored the book Your Money, Your Marriage which focuses on a principle we call Financial Foreplay (🤭) or how sex and money collide in marriage. You can find it wherever books are sold (there’s a list of places on YourMoneyYourMarriage.com). You can also purchase an audio version on CDs or download. Or again, check out a copy from the library or on an online digital library service like hoopla or OverDrive.
31 Ways to Kick Debt in the Teeth
This is another series I’ve written. It focuses less on the practical steps and more on the mental game that allows you to get the job done. 31 Ways to Kick Debt in the Teeth will also give you some smart moves to make with money, too.
FREE Downloadable Budget Forms
A few years ago, I reworked my budget forms to make them both more functional and attractive. You can edit them and download them here.
