Yippeee! It’s Monday. Here in the Queendom, that means dishes, laundry, and pre-meal prep for a busy week ahead. I actually try not to take any calls on Monday morning {or schedule anything at all} because I know I need the time at hand to tidy the castle and my brain for the week ahead. One of the things I try to do every Monday is to plan our meals. You’ll note a lot of Sweet Potato dishes this week. Let’s just say they were reallllly cheap at Aldi. 🙂
I get a lot of questions about whether or not the Princesses actually eat the meals that I plan. The short answer is yes; however, we always have PBJ, peas {both girls LOVE peas, who’d a thunk it}, and either grapes, apples, apple sauce, or most days bananas available if they turn up their noses. They try a lot of different foods and have to eat at least one of the menu planned items. The Eldest Princess LOVES anything with black beans, too. 🙂
Monday: Egg Sandwiches on Whole Wheat Toast
Sweet Potato Fries
Sliced Apples
Tuesday: Salad with lots of Veggies and left over Rotisserie Chicken from Sunday
Baked Sweet Potatoes
Toast with Olive Oil
Apple Sauce
Wednesday: Black Bean Salsa Soup
Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Chicken-n-Noodle Soup for the girls {from the good ‘ole can}
Grilled Cheese
Grapes
Thursday: Turkey Pepperoni Pizza {GO Eldest Princess at Spellbowl!}
Salad
Baked Apples
Friday: Leftovers or Pumpkin Waffles
Eggs
Sweet Potato Fries
Saturday:
Brunch: Pancakes & Eggs
Fresh Fruit
Dinner: Potstickers
Stir Fried Veggies {didn’t end up fixing this last week}
Sunday: Soup TBD
Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Cookies
Apple Slices
While you’re not invited to eat at the Royal Table, you are invited to plan your meals, too {and share your ideas here!}. It doesn’t have to be complicated. I print this document each week and keep both our meal plan and our grocery list in the same place.
Any fall favorite showing up on your Royal Table? Got a great veggie based dish to share with me? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
