One of the first Indianapolis bloggers I met when I began blogging was dear Lady Casey of moosh in indy.
While she’d never say so, she’s kind of a big deal. But that’s not why I love her.
Casey took me to my first GenCon, an Indy Institution. |
And she’s an amazing photographer. While I’m inspired by her photos (and dream of the day when I can have my picture taken by her while I’m holding a large bunch of colorful balloons), that’s still not why I love her most.
She is extremely fun and lives without limits. Heck, if it weren’t for her, I would have never met R2D2 or R4. And while this has added some ridiculous giggles to my world, it’s still not why I love her most.
She writes without abandonment, with extreme honesty, and uses an unbelievably sharp wit. She could easily teach creative writing. But you guessed it, still not why I love her most.
In a mere 2 years of knowing Casey through mooshinindy and Twitter and IRL, I love the fact that she knows that life – while messy and sometimes less than you wish it would be – is worth living, worth celebrating, worth sharing with others.
And that’s why when Lady Emily of DesighHERMomma asked if I wanted to participate in a special 90 day long (seriously a lot of people love Casey like I do) celebration of Casey’s new little princess due in May, I jumped at the chance.
Let me pause and say a few things to Casey and then I’ll give you a peek at the gifts I sent to her today.
Casey, thank you. Thank you for giving me wise blogging guidance. Thank you for helping me keep life in perspective. Thank you for warning me of the wiles of the internet jerk and how to deal with one. Thank you for encouraging me. Thank you for making me laugh {and cry} through the words you write on a regular basis. Thank you for being an extremely bright light to so, so many women who struggle with depression. Thank you for helping us realize we’re more the same than we are different. You have a very big story to tell and daily you’re telling it well. May you continue to do so in the days to come. grace+peace to you friend and joy in the new life that is coming soon.
Today, I’m giving Casey a couple of gifts and tomorrow, I’ll begin a give away to you in her honor. Look away girl if you haven’t received the first one yet.
For Casey’s sweet Princess who is ~ the same age the Eldest Princess was when the Youngest Princess was born, I’m sending this book: Sisters by David McPhail. I love its sweet illustrations and the beautiful bond of sisterhood that I’ve been blessed to see my own girls grow over the past 3 years. From Casey’s writing and descriptions of her daughter, I know she’s going to be a fantastic sister and I wanted to bless her with a little gift during this celebration.
And then because every pregnant girl needs a sweet treat, Casey is receiving some yummy 240Sweet Gourmet Artisan Marshmallows! She chose the Elephant Ear, Cherry Chocolate Chip, and Salty Carmel Swirl (*drool*). And the lovely ladies of 240Sweet are going to give one lucky reader a $15 gift certificate to choose some yummy marshmallows, too! Keep your eyes peeled for a Give Away post tomorrow. 🙂
happiness and blessings to:
Casey
and her Prince Charming Cody
and her sweet Princess moosh
and new little mozzi who will be here in May
with love, from the royal family.
