Monday Meal Plan

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

January 3, 2011 By Cherie Lowe

Greetings Money Saving Lords and Ladies and welcome to the first full week of 2011.  I did some killer grocery shopping last night and still have $16 in my grocery budget envelope (woohoo!).  We are stocked up and ready to take this year by storm when it comes to effectively eating healthfully at home (that’s a mouthful).  Here’s what’s for dinner on the Royal Table this week:

Monday: Black Bean Sweet Potato Salsa Verde Soup
Grilled Cheese on 100% Whole Wheat Bread
               Salad
               Baked Apples

Tuesday: Egg and Turkey Sausage Sandwiches
               Baked Red Potato Fries
               Apple or Orange Slices

Wednesday: Personal Pizzas on Whole Wheat Buns
Toppings include Cheese, Turkey Pepperoni, Mushroom, Spinach, Red Onion, Peppers
                    Spinach Salad

Thursday: Turkey Meatball Sandwiches
                 Green Beans
                 Organic Mac-n-Cheese

Friday: Tortellini Soup
             Whole Wheat Bread

Saturday: Lunch – Leftovers
Dinner – More than likely we’ll be with family or leftovers, pbj, fresh cut veggies, fruit

Sunday: BBQ Pulled Chicken
              Red Potato Salad
              Cole Slaw
              Apple Crumble

This sheet is what I use to organize my meal plan and grocery lists.  I usually have one column that I use for Aldi and one for another grocery store so this helps me keep my head straight.  In addition I place an * next to items that I have a coupon for and ** next to items with stackable coupons.  It’s all a part of my system that helps me save.  It may not work for you so find something that does.  🙂
