Monday Meal Plan

Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.

May 24, 2010 By Cherie Lowe

It’s that time of the week again to plan meals for the Queendom!  Planning meals consistently saves us time, money, and oh yeah my sanity.  I always want to issue the disclaimer that we have great grace and flexibility in our meal planning.  I often swap nights of the week or side dishes when life complicates the plan.  And I always have Peanut Butter and Jelly or Eggs on hand for a quick and easy alternative.  As much as possible, I chop ingredients ahead of time and pre-cook/freeze meats (as evidenced by the amount of grilled chicken this week).  AND I *heart* my crockpot.  Because all of the above, we rarely eat at restaurants (the King of Free hasn’t at all in 2010).  If we are going to eat out, it’s a part of the plan.  All of that being said, here’s what we’re having for dinner this week.

Monday: Grilled Chicken
               Grilled Asparagus/Green Beans
               Organic Mac and Cheese
               Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls
               Watermelon

Tuesday: Grilled Chicken on a Bed of Romaine
with Cheese, Crumbled Bacon, Carrots, Egg
                Toast with Olive Oil
                Sliced Strawberries on Homemade Granola

Wednesday: Grilled Chicken Melts
                    on Whole Wheat Sandwich Thins
                    Carrots
                    Apple Slices

Thursday: Turkey Pepperoni Pizza on Whole Wheat Crust
with Mushrooms, Onion, Spinach (from the garden), and Mozzarella Cheese
                 Side Salad
                 Apple Sauce

Friday: At Friends’ house for a pitch in

Saturday:  At Friends’ house again

Sunday:  Turkey Parmesan Calzones (because we didn’t have them last week)
               Salad
               Fruit Salad

Don’t forget that you can use this tool to help you plan your meals and organize your grocery list.  Plan your meals and save your dollars, Lords and Ladies.
