So the last time we talked, I was amazed that I actually lost weight while at Blissdom and was trying to get back with my fitness routine. Unfortunately that is just now starting to happen for me for a couple of reasons.
1) I finally relented to paying $30 for my co-pay and $10 for antibiotics and went to the Immediate Care last Wednesday night (yes I AM that cheap that it becomes a debate in my head). They diagnosed me with bronchitis and sinusitus (again!) and put me on a Z Pack. The cough is finally starting to clear (Woo-Hoo!) and I’ve been spending a little extra time on the Wii Fit (yesterday and today) to make up for being gone all of that time!
2) Wii Fit is about all I’ve been able to handle but it’s really ok because with close to 10 inches off the white stuff on our ground outside and the fact that my “mini gym” is in our non-climate controlled garage, getting on the bike trainer or the eliptical is pretty much out of the question right now. *SIGH.* Please come spring, I wanna get outside or at least into my own garage!
Fortunately, I’ve not had any change in the numbers, remaining under that golden “ought oh, that is way too high of a number” that I ducked under a three weeks ago. It’s kind of strange because the Wii Fit Plus is my first + experience with a scale. We don’t own them in our house and never have. I think it’s a good thing. Otherwise I’d be weighing myself every 15 minutes or at least every time I went to the bathroom. With the Wii I have great accountability for one of the first times along with encouragement when the numbers decrease. BUT I only weigh in once a day and that’s it. And after I weigh in, it’s not like I have time to get all depressed because I’m getting ready to work out and if I’m really that down about the number, I’m there to do something about it (*ahem* not run to the kitchen to drown my sorrows in food).
That being said, I’d like to see the Wii Fit up the game a little bit with some more advanced options to really make me sweat. I’m looking forward to the day when a REAL Step Aerobics sort of game comes out with multiple levels for increased intensity and a MUCH quicker pace. However, there are Wii Fit Plus games that make me sweat that I never thought would (Skateboard Arena, that crazy Gopher Segway game, and the Obstacle Course).
So not too many tips today, just a bit of an update. This week, I’m scouring the internet for some workout plans that you can use to get in shape for a 5 K. Spring will be here soon, I promise and we want to be ready to hit the road. So if you’ve never run a block before or you’re like me and desperately seeking to get your groove back, stay tuned for a plan to whip you into shape!
This Post contains an Amazon Affiliate Link which means if you buy a Wii Fit Plus for yourself, you get healthier and I get a little spendin’ money on Amazon.com. Do know that our Wii was a gift from the Queen Mum and My Pops for Christmas and we purchased the Wii Fit Plus as a Christmas Gift for the Eldest Princess (worked out well for me, huh?). Nintendo, Wii Fit, nor Amazon paid me a dime or gave me a durn thing. Although if they’d like to do so, I’m bout it, bout it. I share my opinion with responsibility and want you to make wise purchasing decisions within your budget. No credit cards allowed people!
