Before we know it, we’ll be thinking about Black Friday around here and how to get the most bang for our buck at Christmas time. The day after Thanksgiving is a bit of a holiday around here. I love all of the great deals that you can score in wee hours of the AM. For the King, it’s all about the sport of the hunt and chase. Yep, we’re the crazy people at Walmart before 5 AM, staking out our place.
Anyway, if you have a kiddo in the toddler or preschool age bracket, you might want to check out Smooshies this Christmas season. They’re cute little silly looking monster type characters with removable arms, legs, hair, and facial features. Think a plush sort of Mr. Potatohead. Since the body parts velcro on and off, even the 16 month old Youngest Princess can change things around, sticking and unsticking its arms and legs. One 2 One Network and Smooshies sent us this adorable Smooshie to try out.T he Youngest Princess actually calls him Elmo because of his furry, red body. Well, actually she calls anything red Elmo but that’s another story for another day. I was actually surprised at how much the Eldest Princess (aged 7 and rapidly becoming too cool for school) loves this toy, too. It’s nice to have something that they can whine about the other one having play with together.
Smooshies come in other characters like this one and you can also buy extra sets of arms, legs, facial features, antennae and even wings to make your Smooshie uniquely yours. And of course the fun is changing it all over to make a completely different character. They’re each adorably ugly in someways. That sounds funky but I’m thinking you get what I mean.
They’re sold exclusively at Jo-Ann’s Fabric Stores right now, an easy find for all you crafty types. Occasionally Jo-Ann’s has great coupons, both in stores and online making this an affordable gift with option for many more add-ons later.
I would suggest that you find a bag or box in which to keep your Smooshie and its parts stored. I’ve already had to dig through the toy box to find a set a legs and am currently missing one of its four arms. 🙂
The Smooshie website also has some free downloadable puzzles and games for you whether you purchase one or not!
As I stated above, the One2One Network provided our family with a Smooshie and an extra set of body parts for me to review. No monies were received for this review nor was it edited by the manufacturer or a PR company. I always give you my honest opinion regarding products so you can make an informed purchase decision.
