Wow, Lords and Ladies. I’ve had quite the 24 hours. Yesterday, I made it my goal to get our yard into croquet playing shape because if there’s anything the King loves, it’s croquet. His rankings are as follows: 1) God 2) Me 3) the girls 4) Our Life Group and 5) Croquet. So this spring has been rather rocky for the Royal Lawn. We’ve had a string of rainy days and then somehow on the one day when it’s suitable for us to cut the grass we either have something going on or the the lawn is still too wet to get it done. And unfortunately, I can’t cut it during the day what with chasing after the youngest princess. Oh and did I mention we have an acre and a half of grass?! So basically we could have been playing Little House on the Prairie in the back yard and could barely even find the swingset (which is wood and rather large) due to the high grass. But I am happy to report that after some help from some wonderful friends (see item #4), I was able to get it all cut yesterday and then a couple of young fellas that I offered to pay in doughnuts and ice cream spent about 40 minutes fine tuning things after the eldest princess got home from school. I won’t dwell on it but I also got the mower stuck and then unstuck on my own in the mud in the back of our property and I almost forgot but then remembered to air up the bum tire on the mower (wondered where all of those ruts were coming from).
AND I ended up making dinner instead of doing take out AND took the eldest princess to buy her birthday gift for her dad (which she purchased with her own hard earned cash, WOOT WOOT). I’m not even sure how it all got done but I am glad. The King felt special and LOVED his gift of a well mowed and raked lawn. If we weren’t out of weed eater string, I would have trimmed it, too. There’s always tomorrow. Now if we could just get our flower beds under control, we’ll be set for the summer months!
So today, I’ll be bringing you a few new posts and some freebie loving goodness. Hope you all had a fabulous Monday and are seeing possibilities in this new day. Thanks for letting me rattle and being on this Royal Money Saving Quest with me.
